The morning light was pale and gentle when Sofia stepped outside, surprised to see Adam already waiting by the car. He leaned casually against the driver's door, his sleeves rolled up, hair still damp from a shower, looking effortlessly handsome in the quiet glow of dawn.
"Good morning," she greeted, rubbing her eyes with a sleepy smile. "You're up early."
"I took the day off," he said simply, opening the car door for her. "No meetings. No calls. Just us."
Her brows arched. "Just us?"
He smirked, eyes glinting with that familiar mischief. "Yes, Mrs. Ravenstrong. Now, get in before I change my mind and make you walk."
Sofia laughed softly as she slid into the seat. "Where are you taking me, Adam?" she asked once he started the engine.
He glanced at her, then back to the road. "I told you, it's a surprise."
