[Damien's POV]
Even if she hates me, for once, she wouldn't have walked out on me, not when she's bruised.
It felt like she was in a trance, in a moment, and the way she ran like something had happened.
I can tell my heart still raced with panic, with fear, and anxiety. Staring at her, she looked pale and drawn.
She cried... What's wrong? It's definitely not from the bruises. Is she mad at me, blaming me for the plate that fell?
It's fine by me, she can cuss me all she wants but I don't want her to leave me, I don't want her to slip away, not when my heart skips at every sight of her.
The spark that once lit up her face had flickered out, leaving behind a dull, hollow glow that made me sick too.
"Princess," I called bitterly, wanting to scold her for her actions, for making me almost die of a heart attack, but I ended up opening my arms wide.
Staring at her, she looked hopeless as her chest rose up and down like one who was suppressing grief, anger, and pain all at once.
