The Team took a vote and Zark was the only one who voted a not guilty sentence for the individual responsible for the crime that had been done. The other three in voted a guilty verdict because of the gruesome crime and the only one who is most responsible for the incident is Zark who can not change his past. The Demon Olronig who is responsible for the Trials have opened up the pathway so they can continue their journey to The Second Trial. This chapter starts directly after Chapter 49.
We were moving quite slowly as sadness was looming over our group, and my injuries, which hindered us from moving faster, with the clock ticking down to my death.
After a while of walking, I could see the end of the mountain leading to the other side. So, we don't have to do any more trials?
I released myself from the Mage and tried to hurry up with my limp to try and reach the stairs, when suddenly, a couple of meters before the exit, the flames lit up, blocking the path. The damn fire figure showed it self dancing on the path in front of us. It is not even possible knock the shit out of Ronnie as any individual would catch fire.
"Weeeeelcome peasants to Trial number two. I will stop monologing, as you have a member on your team who is...Well, not so Fresh! Hahahahaha! Did you get the joke?"
"Killeh"
I looked down at Killeh, who shrugged his shoulders.
"Oh! Someone does have some jokes inside them, at least within the team. Go Team Hell!" Ronnie tried to get Killeh excited, but he shrugged his shoulders again.
Rieven swung her tail at the back of Killeh's head, causing him to fall face down, with a stretched out body.
"Can you start the Trial, please?" I asked tired of hearing the crap from the demon god, king with a spice of shit.
Our environment had changed, and I glanced down to see that my white shirt was, in fact, white.
"Ah damn it! Are we in a dungeon again?"
Ronnie sneaked in a bad way behind a tree, jumping around doing a weird dance with his cane when he suddenly stopped with a big smirk on his face. I wanted to punch the Goldilocks; he had a punchable face that I added to my to-do list to remember forever, and if the circumstances get different, I will go for it.
"Okay! Completely useless peasants! In Trial Number Two, you will see different scenarios and decide whether there will be a guilty verdict or a not guilty verdict. Right or wrong!"
We were in the woods, with numerous cabins nearby. So we have to choose the nicest cabin, or what?
When I was going to ask him, he disappeared on us, that prick.
We walked out of the woods with a lot of people making a lot of noise; a lot of children were running around, with many of them being girls. Everyone's ears were shaped differently, bigger than usual, but it was not elves. The ears were just a little bit bigger than those of a normal human.
"Any suggestions?" I asked the team, but they were quiet.
Rieven and Killeh joined in and started playing with the children while the men continued to move around the wood. I tried to figure out what we were looking for.
I looked up in the sky for a moment, thinking the sun was shining down, but hundreds of arrows suddenly blocked the shining sun and were dropping towards the whole area as I tried to move towards the gang of children, and I slipped. I was on a floor now with Killeh and Rieven not far away, with the Mage moved around me and stopped. I turned to the right and recognized one of the children from earlier. We were in a large area, where the children lined up in a long queue, wearing shredded and dirty clothes. It didn't only look like it was these children, but it was several different races. I got up quickly and moved to the children, as they were only staring forward.
"Kill," Little Killeh uttered before he started to run toward the children.
The Mage grabbed him and pushed herself to the ground, holding on to Killeh as Rieven jumped on him to make sure he didn't get loose from the grip.
"What did he see?" I asked the Mage.
"I-I-I think he saw other Daemons also lined up a couple of lines back!"
I went through the lineup, and around eight lines in, I saw Daemon. Maybe there were children; it's hard to know when all of them are so small. I walked back to them, just throwing my hands in the air.
"I don't know, maybe he reacted because he saw his kind, or perhaps someone he knows," I commented as silence took over.
"He saw his sister, who is not alive anymore." I heard Ronnie's voice from the side.
When I looked to the right, he was sitting on the floor with his eyes closed, humming. Is he mediating when we are in some warehouse looking crap with children who are suffering?
"Stop humming, bastard!" I told him.
Not far away, something began to shine in what looked like a tunnel. Several red lizard demons, holding torches, emerged in our area, accompanied by a couple of white-haired women dressed in leather clothes, which looked like it was from Earth, not that kind of clothing I have seen in Paladin, except for the suits the witches wears in the organization, but nobody wears leather. When the witches in the front split up, a white-haired witch with long white hair and a dress showed up, followed by more witches.
"Hey! Goldi shit! What is happening?" I asked him, but he was still humming to himself while Killeh was still trying to get loose, screaming in the air as if his life depended on this situation.
Something is not right; something will happen. The first child closest to the witches started hissing when the white dressed Witch swung her sword so quickly that I only saw a head bouncing on the ground, passing by Ronnie, before the look of the child staring right at me with open eyes. Many children screamed, echoing the air with different sounds as the body of the decapitated one sprayed the crowd with blood before falling to the floor. I heard a snap of a finger and saw Ronnie looking at me while the screams continued.
"LOOK DOWN ON YOUR HANDS, TRASH!" he screamed at me.
I gazed slowly down at my hands, which were trembling as I tried to control them, but it was impossible to stop the trembling.
When I looked again in shock, I saw the white Witch, who was the leader, standing in the front of the crowd of children, and she yelled to the crowd:
"I AM SAMANTHA CREUST! THE NEW RULER, ONLY THE STRONG ONES WILL SURVIVE, FROM NOW ON. I AM YOUR QUEEN AND RULER. THE ONE WHO DEFIES ME WILL MEET DEATH."
The cries and screams continued in the air as I looked around the crowd and saw the team lying completely still on the ground, nobody moving. I turned to Ronnie as I didn't understand what was going on. The trembling didn't stop as I kept trying to control my hands.
"This...is something that you can not learn, Van Trash. Your trembling hands, that is what fear is. You are afraid of her, the Queen." Ronnie said and pushed his cane on the ground as our whole environment changed again.
