Agra finally collapsed to the ground the moment the text displayed in front of his eyes.
His arms trembled, his legs burned, and his chest heaved as though he had just wrestled with the heavens themselves. His muscles screamed in rebellion, sending sharp jolts of pain through his body, an overwhelming ache that clawed at his very bones.
His vision blurred, sweat trickled down his forehead in relentless streams as his breath came in desperate ragged gasps.
For a moment, the world around him felt distant, almost unreal.
The floor beneath him was solid, yet his body refused to acknowledge it as it sunk into the cool embrace of exhaustion. His heartbeat pounded in his ears like war drums, announcing the battle his body had fought against its limits.
It wasn't like he had completed this at a go though, no. He had been doing this in bits that took almost the entire of his half day.
He roled over and face the badly destroyed ceiling of a small cabin somewhere deep in the forest.
The place was long abandoned and usually used as a hunting ground. Agra thought it would be a good idea to use this place as his mancave if he wishes to keep everything under the bridge, after all, it wasn't like someone would specifically come to this place.
He looked over to the entrance of the cabin, somehow wishing it could have been a little bigger so that he could just complete the last piece of the quest inside here.
He knew he had to complete the quest. Not just because the system threatened to punish him if he fails to complete the them, no. He just decided to use this as his turn around. Something to chase after power as libraries just didn't feel like a place for him, something to keep him, maybe, on the same ground as other medleys of his age, if not above.
He forced his body up, battling through the exhaustion as he prepared himself to complete the last piece of the quest. Yes, he was already exhausted, but he couldn't bring himself to resting as he could see the sun hanging on its last strings, ready to drop anytime soon.
The whole sky was painted red, almost as if the sun was crying, begging for the thread to hold on a little bit longer, but how quick it was breaking made its heart to shutter into countless of pieces.
Agra walked out, heading to complete his quest, but the moment the red sun rays landed on his skin, something strang happened.
{Alert! Alert! You are being hit by a direct crimson sun rays}
{Effect will now take toll of your body until you avoid the rays!}
The system screen displayed.
Agra felt a pain allover his body like never before. All those hitting he had received, the beatings, nothing felt quite like this.
He felt his entire body, skin, aching, burning like he was walking right in the middle of the sun. And if that was never enough, right infront of his own eyes, he saw his own skin disintegrating into fine particles of a crimson dust that were carried away by the whispering wind, and leaving behind some burning scotch marks allover his skin.
Agra was left there, paralyzed for a moment. The burning sensation washing over his body becoming overwhelming just with each heartbeat.
He was confused, not able to make sense of this, forcing his brain to freeze for a moment, unable to make any commands for his body to react to.
Then, his heart pounding as if threatening to break free from his chest, Agra snapped out of his daze in the middle of this whole overwhelming pain.
His mind screamed just but a single word the moment he regained his composure, "Run back to the cabin as fast as you can."
With the command triggered, Agra quickly turned around and lifted his feet ready to dash back in, but before he even knew, he, all of a sudden found himself inside the cabin in a speed that even himself couldn't make sense of it.
It was more like he had teleported to the cabin, but it wasn't a teleportation FE, he had just run in a speed that could certainly best a bullet.
[The crimson sun rays has been avoided.]
[The crimson sun rays effect has stopped.]
[Your injuries will now start healing.]
The text displayed.
Agra was startled while looking at the wounds on his arms, still sizzling and smoking hot. Even his face was affected, but the moment the screen displayed, all of the wounds in his body started to heal up and completely disappear without leaving any scars behind.
It was more like they weren't even their at the firet place as hi ms skin was now as smooth as they came, but the screen dangling in front of him never seemed to disappear as another text displayed.
[The second daily quests has been triggered.]
{To make the user adapt to the evolutional path assigned, a new daily quests has been granted.}
[Quest: Avoid direct sunlight for 8 hours a day (25 hours)]
{Quest reward: 5 exp}
Reading this, a certain question quickly crossed Agra's mind.
"Am I becoming a vampire?" He muttered, his heart racing faster as he clearly understood the consequences of this.
Normally, the Medleys are divided into two subgroups; the normies, and the mythicals.
The normies are those natural medleys, if they were humans, they could be considered as those normal people, and then there's a mythical.
A mythical medleys are those medley that either have a transformation abilities, or just feeds on the other's essence for survival.
Such example of them are Phoenixes, vampires, werewolves, dragons and more.
Unfortunately, the mythicals are always eliminated the moment sported or noticed, as feeding on the other's essence would most of the cases result to a death of the prey.
So it was fair enough for Agra to be frighten the moment a thought of him being a mythical crossed his mind.
"The Blackbloods... What even is that?" He questioned.
At this moment, all he could wish for was to be in the library to contact his investigation, but unfortunately, he seemed to have been held hostage by the sun that was setting rather slow than expected, that's according to him.
But since he was here, he decided to check out something, if what had just happened right now affected his HP, and thus, he summoned his status screen.
[User: Agra]
[Race: Medley]
[Level 0]
[Exp: 0/50]
[HP: 10/10]
[Strength: 10]
[Agility: 10]
[Stamina: 10]
It was a relief to him to see that nothing was affected by the rays, all he had experienced was pain, but his status seemed to have remained in tact.
He closed the system and decided to watch over the setting sun from the shades while planning for his next move. But just as that screen disappeared, another one quickly came displaying.
[A new skill has been registered. Dash level 1]
[Dash: This skill allows the user to close the distance, or move away from the opponent in a blink of an eye.]
[Distance covered: 1.5 meters]
[Limitations: Only works at a straight line.]
[Skill cost: null]
[Cool down period: 30 seconds]
Reading this, Agra's eyes spackled with stars visible in his eyes. If he had such a skill before, then it could have been too easy for him to avoid the attack from the boy and maybe come up with his own counter attack.
Generally, he understood how important this skill was and he couldn't wait to utilize it, as it seemed like his fate was finally leading him to the battle ground, but while still celebrating this, he suddenly heard a wolfy growl from behind the cabin.
