Chapter 8 - [8] VIP Customer

Though Takuya thought Konoha was a good destination, one look at Tsunade's expression told him everything.

She wanted to tie him down there.

That wouldn't do.

Sure, Konoha had plenty of rich folks, but so did other places. Most importantly—

As a mysterious merchant, he couldn't let anyone get the idea that he could be restricted.

"If Miss Tsunade is willing to refer customers to me, that would be most welcome," Takuya said with a light smile. "The badge can contact me anytime, anywhere. If someone wants to buy jars, I'll be there right away."

"No need for all that trouble. Just come with me," Tsunade said, arms crossed, tone absolute and full of authority.

"I'm afraid that won't work." Takuya kept his smile as he stood up. "I have many other clients. So then—farewell, Miss Tsunade."

After a graceful bow—

Before Tsunade could even react—

Poof! In a soft sound, he vanished like an illusion.

A short-range Phantom Shift, worth 700 Trade Points.

"Lady Tsunade!" Shizune cried out in shock.

"Space-time jutsu?" Tsunade frowned—but quickly shook her head. "No, not quite."

As the granddaughter of the First Hokage, she had seen the Flying Thunder God Technique developed by her great-uncle firsthand.

But this—was completely different.

A space technique from another world?

Tsunade stood silent for a moment, then abruptly rose to her feet.

"Shizune, we're going back to Konoha."

The matter of this interdimensional merchant had to be reported to the Third Hokage as soon as possible—and she had to start gathering the money for resurrection.

After decades of wandering, for the first time, Tsunade resolved to return to the village.

Whatever consequences that led to—it no longer had anything to do with Takuya.

Right now, he was wandering through a small city.

It looked pretty peaceful.

But it felt like walking through a movie set. In his old world, towns with houses this short were rare now.

"So... what now?" Takuya casually exchanged a chicken leg, leaned against a wall, and took a bite as he stared down the nearly empty street, a wave of loneliness suddenly washing over him.

Alone in another world.

When he first realized he'd transmigrated, the first thing he searched in the system was "return to Earth"—but nothing came up.

Custom-ordering it?

Also displayed "insufficient points."

Not a dead end—but not close either.

"...Whatever. Thinking too hard won't help." Takuya finished the chicken leg, wiped his mouth, and muttered, "How much for a local identity scan… hmm, this little town only costs 1,300? Alright, let's find the richest guy here..."

In the Naruto world, the strongest were undoubtedly ninjas.

But the wealthiest? Not necessarily.

Ninjas didn't produce anything, and there were far fewer of them than regular people. At the end of the day, this world was still officially run by civilians. Merchants, nobles—those people might have even more money than shinobi.

And in this town—

The most powerful and wealthiest man was the head of the Kitahara family, Kitahara Yūki, currently enjoying dinner.

He was in his fifties.

Old and haggard.

Wrinkled face, but still exuding natural authority—maybe from his fine clothes, maybe from his wealth and power.

Suddenly—

Poof! A soft sound, and someone appeared right in front of him.

"Who are you?!"

Several figures rushed in immediately.

Kitahara family ninjas.

Takuya remained calm and simply muttered—

"Exchange: Mirror Dimension."

In an instant, a mystical aura spread out. An invisible barrier enveloped him and the entire Kitahara household.

A spell from Doctor Strange. A small ten-minute mirror dimension—costing 2,000 Trade Points.

But the effect was perfect.

The ninjas outside all froze.

Their faces were full of confusion. Though they were just a few steps away, it was as if they saw nothing, glancing around aimlessly.

This sudden shift made Kitahara Yūki leap up, eyes wide. His two sons panicked—one screamed and backed away, the other at least stepped in front of his father.

"Good evening."

Takuya had switched into a clean black tailcoat, holding a small, ornate cane. He smiled as he greeted the three.

"What is this?"

"You did this?"

"Who are you? What do you want!?"

Kitahara Yūki didn't speak, but his tense posture and trembling hands showed his fear at this bizarre phenomenon.

Even the high-ranking jonin among their guards outside hadn't noticed anything. A few moments later, they even wandered off.

No doubt about it—

The man before them was someone they couldn't fight.

"Allow me to introduce myself." Takuya gave a refined bow. "I'm a merchant—a merchant who sells very special goods."

He waved his cane.

Ten small jars silently appeared in front of them.

"I believe... you may be interested in my products, Mr. Kitahara." His smile curled up slightly.

"Merchant?"

Kitahara muttered, glancing at the jars. He relaxed a little—if this was about money, then it wasn't the worst-case scenario.

"These aren't ordinary jars," Takuya said slowly, as if reading his mind. "For countless years, we've traveled across countless worlds, offering magical jars to the people. Inside are all sorts of miracles. If luck is on your side, you could gain immortality, power, even endless wealth and influence. So, Mr. Kitahara—care to try a set?"

Kitahara struggled to process it all.

But at this point, he didn't seem to have the right to refuse.

He opened his mouth—only for Takuya to cut him off.

"Your wealth has already been prepared."

As if he knew exactly what Kitahara was about to say, Takuya waved his cane again. Stacks of bills and treasure—gold, silver, everything—appeared on the spot.

All of it belonged to the Kitahara family.

To Kitahara Yūki himself.

A custom service—5,000 Trade Points.

Kitahara Yūki took a deep breath. Among the treasure, he even spotted a ring that had belonged to his mother, hidden in his most secret chamber. With such uncanny methods—he, despite having deep ninja ties, had never seen anything like it.

But if he could do that—why not just take the money?

"We only complete honest, willing trades," Takuya said, smiling gently. He waved again—and cast a Calm Mind charm. "So, sir, you have nothing to worry about."

And in truth—

Takuya was thrilled inside.

The Kitahara family…

Had over ten million ryo worth of assets!

Totally worth the hefty upfront costs—he'd already spent nearly 10,000 Trade Points just setting up the scene before the real deal even began!
