Yu Nagasawa, in the control room, was receiving the answers from both sides via the narrators, listening to Renz's words in front of the camera.
She was a bit numb.
This was the so-called "mismatched thought process."
Weren't their thought processes on the same wavelength from beginning to end?
The only question that was supposed to reveal a difference of opinion clearly turned into a commercial mutual flattery, full of emotional intelligence.
If Yu Nagasawa hadn't known she hadn't leaked the questions to them beforehand, she would have strongly suspected they had rehearsed their answers.
This is possible?
Without prior information about the questions, separated in two rooms, they could still produce such consistent answers. The only explanation was that their emotional life was harmoniously "messy."
Both knew each other inside out.
At this moment, Erina was guided by staff back to Renz's room.
However, the staff did not appear on camera, as this kind of show is a stage for celebrities, and the audience doesn't want to see the behind-the-scenes crew, who are certainly hidden backstage.
The two sat down together again.
"Before our scores are revealed, you two can have a brief exchange here," the narrator said.
Upon hearing this,
Renz and Erina immediately looked at each other.
Erina was the first to start the conversation, "I was in another room just now and was asked some questions.
What about you?"
"Me too," Renz nodded.
"What did they ask you?" Erina inquired.
Variety shows thrive on improvisation and program effect. This kind of interaction creates that effect.
Renz thought for a moment and asked, "They asked me what position I hold in our family structure."
He was just probing.
Renz was trying to trick Erina a bit.
Erina wanted to be on a show to have fun, right? So Renz decided to relax too; this was just to tease Erina.
"What did you answer?" Erina asked somewhat nervously.
"My position is very awkward," Renz said, feigning deep thought. "It's like being on the back of a tiger, unable to dismount. Sometimes I have a lot of say in the family, but sometimes I don't. Everything, ultimately, depends on you."
I suspect you're hinting at something, but I have no
proof.
However, after Renz finished speaking, he immediately changed the subject, saying, "Oh, how can it be like being on the back of a tiger? It's clearly like the fox assuming the tiger's might."
Erina's face, however, became unusually serious. "I have to contradict you on that."
"In our home, your status in family, to describe it as the fox assuming the tiger's might, is still too low. I do give you a lot of face sometimes, okay?"
"At least when we discuss things, I won't deliberately force you to listen to me."
Erina said with a very serious expression.
Renz didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He didn't care
about this, but he hadn't expected Erina to care so much;
it was just a self-deprecating joke.
"Are you angry?" Renz asked after a moment's thought.
"I'm not angry," Erina shook her head.
"I think you are angry," Renz said.
"If I were angry, I wouldn't even bother talking to you now," Erina rolled her eyes. "You've said things like this several times before, but I've always ignored you.
Bringing it up again, I can confidently tell you, you still hold power in the family."
"I'm ranked first, you're definitely second. If I'm ranked second, then you're definitely first," Erina said with a very firm tone.
"Oh-hoh~" Renz chuckled with an upward inflection, not pressing the issue further. "Then I say, wife, how about you make breakfast every day?"
"No way!" Erina's voice suddenly got louder. "I... I can't get up."
"You should still handle breakfast. At most, I'll cook lunch and dinner."
Classic.
A true classic.
"The blanket has ruined our relationship," Renz sighed.
To make good breakfast, one must wake up early. All procedures must go smoothly to create a good breakfast.
With a child at home, breakfast is paramount.
Renz usually had to get up at 5 AM to prepare, while Erina usually slept in until at least 7 AM. If she stayed up late, she might wake up even later.
Many people might consider Erina to be a disciplined person.
But the truth is, anyone who loves reading novels is, at least when it comes to waking up, very likely not a disciplined person.
Erina staying up all night reading novels was a common occurrence, and sleeping in had become a frequent habit.
It was relatively difficult to make her get up so early to make breakfast.
"How about this, it's not a high demand: how about you make breakfast for the next few days?" Renz asked with a raised eyebrow. This move was a follow-up attack, a push into vulnerable territory.
Bold and direct.
Erina had just admitted Renz's family status, and now she couldn't really go back on her word. Hearing this, she gritted her teeth. At worst, she'd go to bed earlier.
"Fine," Erina said, taking a deep breath. "Just tell me what you want for breakfast, so I can prepare it with fresh ingredients."
"I can eat whatever you make for breakfast, no need to be so particular," Renz replied after thinking.
Yu Nagasawa recorded the entire exchange and found that Renz and Erina's group truly had high combat power.
One line after another.
An endless display of affection.
So, you two brought a prop bag to the competition, huh?
A sack full of flashbangs, you can't even throw them all?
She asked them to discuss the previous question, and they managed to derive other topics for a new round of discussion.
And most importantly, the previous questions were designed by the production team, each question having subtle points for showing affection. Both parties shared the questions and answers.
Such well-designed questions and scenarios prepared by the production team would naturally lead the guests to subconsciously show affection to the audience.
It would be hard for guests not to show affection when re-discussing such questions.
But Renz directly abandoned the original topic and even came up with new topics to talk about. The production team had worried that the conversation would become bland, but he managed to impress everyone with these strange topics.
"The exchange time for this segment is over. Our emotional counseling psychology team will integrate your questions and answers, and we have given you a remarkable 96% compatibility score."
Erina raised her hand. This wasn't exactly an interruption, but it was clear she had a question.
"Excuse me, were the questions we were asked identical?"
Erina asked, seeing the other party's gesture and knowing she could speak.
"Relatively speaking, most of the questions asked were consistent," the narrator pondered.
"96% is too high!" Erina complained. "Renz and I often have differences of opinion. I'm sure this compatibility score is artificially inflated."
"Having differences of opinion doesn't mean low compatibility," the narrator said, taking a cue from someone next to him, and then directed the explanation to Renz.
"For example, if one of you wants to buy a desktop computer and the other wants to buy a laptop, and you both have your own opinions, ultimately neither of you adopts the other's opinion."
"That doesn't completely indicate a problem with compatibility."
"How about this: your questions and answers will be revealed in order to everyone."
"In this round of questions, you two only had one question where you disagreed."
"And we will expand on this point of discussion."
"This topic is: In the course of the two guests' romance, who pursued whom first?"
