Chapter 257 - Ao Tian’s Origins, The Master’s Plan

In the Star Dou Forest, Emperor Tian and a group of fierce beasts cheered.

"Thank you," Gu Yuena said sincerely, looking at Ao Tian.

Ao Tian replied, "I didn't kill them. You won't blame me, right?"

Gu Yuena shook her head. "I won't. I didn't want you to kill them either. I want to do it myself… someday, I will."

"That day will come," Xiong Jun said. "By then, I'll make that Asura God feel the might of my claws."

Ao Tian and Gu Yuena found a place to sit. "You eight break through together. They won't come to interfere again."

The remaining eight fierce beasts eagerly swallowed their pills. Their combined breakthrough aura far surpassed Emperor Tian earlier.

Emperor Tian remained calm on the side, silently stabilizing his cultivation and contemplating the wonders of the god-level realm.

Ao Tian said, "One day in the Divine Realm equals one year in the mortal world. I've severely injured both the Asura God and the Evil God. By the time they recover… who knows how many years will have passed on Douluo Continent."

Gu Yuena nodded. "That's fine too. The little ones can train in peace."

Ao Tian fell silent, lost in thought.

Previously, when he was entwined by the power of the Heavenly Dao, the Douluo Continent's Heavenly Dao had transmitted scattered, fragmented visions to him.

On a wild, desolate planet, a middle-aged man in black clothes placed a giant egg on the ground and then stepped away, floating into the air.

The vision was incomplete. After an unknown amount of time, the giant egg cracked, and a golden little dragon crawled out.

The vision ended there, but the impact on Ao Tian's mind was immense.

He recognized the little dragon—it was himself.

For a long time, Ao Tian had wondered why he had appeared on this planet. In the early days, there were no other dragons here besides him.

He had guessed that this planet might not be his original home, and that for some reason he had ended up here.

Or perhaps he was naturally born from this world, without ancestors.

But now, the vision from the Douluo Continent's Heavenly Dao told him otherwise.

He had been placed on this planet by someone.

Who was that middle-aged man in black? Why leave him here?

Ao Tian had no answers, only a burning desire to find out.

Previously, his meditation had been interrupted by the Asura God. Now, in peace, he tried to sense the Heavenly Dao again.

After this contact with its power, his sensitivity to the Heavenly Dao had improved significantly.

He tried communicating, but gained no further information, which left him slightly disappointed.

However, he discovered that the more he communicated, the closer he seemed to get to the Heavenly Dao.

This both surprised and delighted him.

Perhaps once his connection reached a certain level, he could uncover the truth of the past.

He didn't know how long this would take, but time was the one thing he never lacked. He could wait as long as needed.

From then on, a new task was added to his daily routine: communicating with the Heavenly Dao of the Douluo Realm to increase intimacy.

Soon, the sound of thunder pulled him back to the present.

He looked around and saw Xiong Jun and the others beginning to endure their tribulations.

Each was far enough apart that the heavenly tribulations wouldn't interfere with one another.

By evening, all the fierce beasts had successfully broken through.

Ao Tian and Gu Yuena reminded them to keep training, then returned to Tiandou City.

As the sun set, the city had regained its lively atmosphere, a stark contrast to the fear and caution of that morning.

Ao Tian and Gu Yuena bought some snacks and walked back to the Ao Residence.

From the chatter of the townsfolk, they learned why people were no longer afraid.

In the afternoon, two title Douluo from the Seven Treasure Glazed Realm had arrived.

Combined with the word from the Snowy Night Emperor, the fierce beast could not escape!

Though not yet killed, the arrival of these two title Douluo reassured the citizens of Tiandou City.

Soul beasts must die!

Additionally, many still excitedly discussed the "high-altitude explosion incident" from that morning.

The explosion had reached near the edge of the atmosphere. Even from such a distance, not even title Douluo could discern what had happened.

When Ao Tian delivered that punch, the Evil God had fully unleashed his divine power to resist it.

He failed.

The impact caused a massive explosion. From the ground, it looked as if a sun had truly detonated.

The terrifying pressure and energy waves spread in all directions. By the time they reached the surface, they were weakened but still made many ordinary people and lower-level soul masters shiver.

Soon after the Asura God fled, Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue contacted Ao Tian using dragon scales.

With Ao Tian's explanation, the Spirit Hall was calm, and Qian Renxue felt reassured.

The Royal Knights patrolled Tiandou City everywhere. If the soul beast appeared again, they would immediately corner it.

They were confident the beast had not left Tiandou City and remained hidden.

If it dared to appear, the knights stationed throughout the city, wielding the strength of sword Douluo and bone Douluo, could reach it in an instant.

Ao Tian and Gu Yuena returned to the Ao Residence just in time for dinner.

At the table, Ning Rongrong asked while eating, "Ao Tian, where did you and Sister Na go today?"

Zhu Zhuqing, quietly eating, perked up her ears—she wanted to know too.

"Just went out for a walk," Ao Tian replied, giving a vague, dismissive answer.

Ning Rongrong frowned. "You said yesterday you'd take us out today, but you disappeared early this morning with Sister Na. Not keeping your word."

Xiao Wu, knowing Ao Tian and Gu Yuena had returned to the Star Dou Forest, said, "Rongrong, I can go with you tomorrow."

Always training at home, Xiao Wu wanted to relax as well.

"Okay," Ning Rongrong cheered, but soon frowned and shook her head, saying, "No!"

"Why not?" Xiao Wu asked.

"Servants said my dad and two grandfathers, along with disciples from the Seven Treasure Glazed Realm, are in Tiandou City. If they see me, they'll take me back."

"After months away, wouldn't it be nice to see your dad?" Xiao Wu asked.

"I feel I'm about to breakthrough. Not long now. I'll go back then. Until then, we'll stay and train," Ning Rongrong said.

"Alright, as you wish," Xiao Wu said, disappointed.

Among the three girls, Zhu Zhuqing was a training fanatic; she wouldn't go shopping anyway.

Ning Rongrong liked shopping, but now couldn't go due to her father's arrival.

Xiao Wu had no companion to go with, and couldn't ask Ao Tian—he'd probably scold her for playing instead of training.

Seeing Xiao Wu's mood, Ao Tian smiled. "Balance training and rest to cultivate faster. Tomorrow morning, I'll take you out, but we'll be back by noon."

Xiao Wu's face lit up. "Thank you, Tian Ge!"

She looked at Zhu Zhuqing. "Bamboo Qing, will you come?"

Zhu Zhuqing raised her head. "I'll go relax a bit."

Xiao Wu teased, "Even you, training fanatic, know how to relax?"

Zhu Zhuqing nodded. "Proper relaxation aids cultivation."

Ning Rongrong felt frustrated. She had said she'd train, yet now everyone planned to go shopping together.

She hesitated. "I'll go too. I'll wear a veil, stay silent, and be careful—not to be recognized."

"Don't worry. You won't be recognized," Xiao Wu assured.

Ning Rongrong nodded. "Too bad about that soul beast. If found, my two grandfathers would definitely kill it."

Xiao Wu looked puzzled. "Shouldn't you want it dead for human safety? Why worry about it?"

"Not all soul beasts are evil. Some are gentle. That one… I think it's a good soul beast," Ning Rongrong explained.

"Why?" Xiao Wu asked.

"Because it killed evil people," Ning Rongrong said. "Snow Avalanche wreaked havoc in Tiandou City for years. Snow Xing, who protected him, wasn't good either. That beast did justice, and notice—it didn't harm ordinary people. That shows it has a kind heart."

Xiao Wu waved it off. "Relax. It won't die."

Ning Rongrong shook her head. "You don't understand. My grandfather is formidable. He once told me, except for the Spirit Hall's Great Sacrificer and the late Tang Chen of Haotian Sect, he fears no one. That soul beast would die if it met him."

Xiao Wu smiled. "Don't worry. You said it's a good soul beast. Good things happen to good creatures."

"Hopefully," Ning Rongrong said.

The most luxurious hotel in Tiandou City was guarded by knights. No other guests came in or out. This became the lodging for the Seven Treasure Glazed Realm group.

They could have stayed in their own luxurious castle outside the city, but it was too far—if the soul beast appeared again, the sword and bone Douluo might not reach in time.

So they stayed in the city center.

All expenses were borne by the Tiandou royal family.

Though the Seven Treasure Glazed Realm wasn't short on money, they enjoyed this royal service.

In a hotel room, Ning Fengzhi and bone Douluo Gu Rong sipped tea leisurely.

Ning Fengzhi, in his forties, looked refined and gentle, dressed in white robes, his gaze soft yet authoritative.

Gu Rong, a tall elder with thinning hair, sat next to him. Standing, he would be around 2.5 meters tall.

They chatted casually, with no sense of urgency.

A door opened, and an elderly man in white robes entered. His white hair and beard made him appear ancient, but he smiled upon seeing Ning Fengzhi and Gu Rong.

Ning Fengzhi quickly poured tea. "Uncle Jian, here."

Chen Xin sat and sipped tea.

"Uncle Jian, what did Du Gu Bo say?" Ning Fengzhi asked.

Chen Xin replied, "I asked about the battle with that soul beast. Its power surpasses Du Gu Bo's by far, adept at fire—its flames can burn even Du Gu Bo's poisons. Its speed and strength are formidable."

"Confident in victory?" Ning Fengzhi asked.

Chen Xin nodded. "No problem. With me, Old Gu, and your support, killing one soul beast isn't difficult."

Gu Rong said, "Then we wait. Once it appears, we strike immediately."

Ning Fengzhi smiled. "Thank you, Uncle Jian and Uncle Gu."

He was very pleased.

This mission promised both fame and reward for the Seven Treasure Glazed Realm.

A successful kill would earn the royal family's reward, increase their prestige, and strengthen ties with the royal family.

Chen Xin sighed. "I wonder how Rongrong is. Haven't seen her in months—miss her."

Ning Fengzhi laughed. "She's probably suffering at Shrek Academy. She was spoiled by you guys, needs some hardship to temper her nature."

"Sigh, how did she get such a ruthless father?" Chen Xin muttered.

"Exactly," Gu Rong agreed.

At Shrek Academy, the Master leaned on his cane and entered Tang San's room.

"Master, your legs… how did you come?" Tang San asked.

The Master moved a stool and sat by Tang San's bed. "Xiao San, Ning Fengzhi of Seven Treasure Glazed Realm and sword Douluo Chen Xin, bone Douluo Gu Rong are in Tiandou City, ready to slay the soul beast."

Tang San nodded. "Dai Mubai already told me this afternoon."

The Master spoke earnestly. "Xiao San, the path of a soul master is hard. I hope you can make powerful allies; it will greatly help you in the future."

Tang San's heart stirred. "You mean… I should ally with Seven Treasure Glazed Realm?"

The Master smiled. "Smart. Now that Ning Fengzhi is in Tiandou City, it's your chance."

Tang San was tempted, but smiled wryly. "He's the exalted sect master… how could I approach him?"

The Master laughed. "Don't worry. I've arranged it. Three days from now, an auction will be held in Tiandou City. Ning Fengzhi loves auctions. He will attend—that's your chance."
