Chapter 280 - Chapter 280: Concert

Relieved to escape the awkward atmosphere, Zhong Wanhong heard Robin's words. What could he possibly think?

He stroked his chin. "I'll report this to the Bureau of Anomalous Investigations," he said. "Since the Prophet made this prophecy, we must prepare for the possibility of a global catastrophe in three years, regardless of whether it comes to pass."

"As for the terminal, Robin, I trust you. Knowing your character, I'm sure you won't misuse it. Since the Prophet entrusted it to you, you should keep it safe."

Because the order had been transmitted electronically, theoretically, whoever possessed the terminal could wield its authority.

Realizing this, Zhong Wanhong couldn't help but caution, "Under no circumstances should you tell anyone else about this. From now on, the fewer people who know, the better."

Robin wasn't afraid someone would try to steal the terminal, but she wasn't foolish enough to want hordes of people harassing her. She nodded slightly. "I understand."

After that, Robin and Elysia's lives returned to their peaceful rhythm. Preparations for the concert progressed smoothly, and the two were inseparable, walking arm-in-arm or shoulder-to-shoulder. Within days, rumors of their "relationship" had spread like wildfire.

For the White Eagle members of the Church of Elysia, their initial reaction was simply awe at Robin's beauty. Driven by curiosity, they looked her up and discovered she was a superstar from the Dragon Nation with numerous songs available online.

Almost instantly, they were captivated, and Robin's fanbase in White Eagle grew at an astonishing rate.

Meanwhile, Robin's fans in the Dragon Nation were furious about her first-ever romantic rumor, even though the alleged partner was another beautiful girl.

Some irrational fans began attacking Elysia directly, while more extreme ones even turned on Robin herself, declaring that idols shouldn't have any romantic interests—it was a betrayal to their fans!

These irrational fans then clashed with White Eagle netizens online. The Dragon Nation's online combat prowess needs no introduction; they utterly dominated the White Eagle side. However, rational Robin fans soon joined the fray, turning their ire on their irrational counterparts. The internet descended into chaos.

However, such drama was practically commonplace in the Dragon Nation. Robin herself didn't even bother to pay attention.

For fans in both the Dragon Nation and White Eagle who loved both Elysia and Robin, this was like a double New Year's celebration—pure bliss for dual fandoms.

Finally, after seven days of meticulous preparation, the concert officially began.

Seated in the front row, Elysia watched her other self belting out songs on stage, listening to the strikingly familiar voice filling the venue. The experience was surreal.

The moment Robin opened her mouth to sing along, Elysia naturally heard her own voice first. But soon, that sound reached her other self on stage, creating a slight echo as their voices layered over each other.

Thankfully, Robin's exceptional vocal control prevented the faint overlap from disrupting her performance. However, after performing several songs, she suddenly felt the urge to pull off an unexpected stunt.

Robin gazed at the packed audience, their light sticks swaying rhythmically. In this high-stakes moment, improvising a major surprise act without prior consultation was a nerve-wracking gamble. What if it flopped?

But relying on her exceptional mental fortitude and unwavering self-confidence, Robin ultimately made her decision.

After the first song, during the intermission, Robin cradled the microphone in her white-gloved hands. Her cheeks were flushed from the performance, and the colorful stage lights cast a mesmerizing glow, enhancing her beauty with a hint of allure.

"This is my first concert outside the Dragon Nation," she began. "This country is filled with so many new things I've never seen before. But most importantly, I've made a wonderful friend here."

"She's an incredibly talented singer with a truly beautiful voice. So, right now, I'd like to invite her onstage to perform the next song with me!"

As she spoke, Robin strolled along the front row of the audience, her cyan high heels clicking softly against the floor. Finally, she stopped before her other self—Elysia—extended her right hand, and pulled her from the audience onto the stage.

"Huh?" Backstage, Chu Xingyu felt a chill run down his spine as he watched the scene unfold. He couldn't believe that Robin, always so considerate, would pull off such a stunt at such a crucial moment.

The audience below was equally bewildered. These were Robin's most devoted fans, who had bought tickets to hear her sing, not some random stranger.

However, when Elysia stepped onto the stage, the audience realized she was no ordinary passerby.

The concert was being held in White Eagle, where the local audience naturally outnumbered those from the Dragon Nation. After all, not everyone was willing to travel abroad just for a concert. The White Eagle citizens immediately recognized Elysia and had no objections whatsoever to Robin's actions.

Their head of state was singing live on stage! What could be better than that?

As for the Dragon Nation fans, they had learned about Elysia and her identity as one of the White Eagle Eight through recent tabloid scandals.

Because the audience consisted entirely of Robin's devoted fans, it was highly unlikely that anyone would insult her or demand refunds. And insulting Elysia? Absolutely not. This was White Eagle, after all, and members of the Church of Elysia were seated nearby. Insulting Elysia here would be practically suicidal.

Thus, not a single audience member voiced any objection or skepticism. Behind the scenes, Chu Xingyu, seeing this, quickly grabbed a new microphone and handed it to Elysia. It was too late to stop her; he could only trust in her performance.

As the gentle background music began to swell, their distinct yet equally beautiful voices intertwined. Since they were essentially the same person, Robin and Elysia possessed identical singing skills. Their only difference lay in their vocal timbre, but Elysia's voice was equally pleasing and perfectly suited for singing.

Precisely because they were one and the same, what appeared to be a duet was, in reality, no different from a solo performance. Outwardly, it seemed as though two incredibly talented singers were performing in perfect synchrony, their voices blending seamlessly.
