It's May 24 2025, another casual day for me. Annyeong, I'm Lee Heeseung or Evan, leader of Team Xen1. Oh, mianhae, I think you might not know what our team is about. So, Xen1 is a popular national e-sports team that plays 'League of legends'. Our team is under the En-hy-pen company. Not only my team, but there are also various e-sports teams that play national games.
I'm based in Seoul's Cheongdam-dong area, where many national e-sports teams have their own buildings, like dorms. And yeah,My home is actually just 40km away from my dorm,geunde I prefer to stay here – it's like my second home. I'm also a passionate biker and love to ride whenever I get some free time. Besides biking, I spend most of my time playing games, either practicing or competing against other teams. During tournaments and e-sports events, we're extremely busy, training During these events we trained like dogs, I mean I trained my teammates like dogs. Hehehe..nevermind.My teammates are like brothers to me, and we always strive to win. While it's not compulsory to win every game, we love the thrill of victory. Winning is our goal, and we're all dedicated to achieving it.
Let's get back to the main point. A lot has happened in the past month. One of my teammates is retiring today offically, and it's hard to see him go. Our Xen1 team consists of 5 players, 1 coach, and 1 manager, and we live together in our dorm like a close-knit family. However, one of my teammates was particularly rough around the edges, and I know he's been dealing with personal issues and feeling frustrated. He's retiring today due to these personal reasons. My other teammates seem happy about his decision, but I'm going to miss him.
Our agency hired a new member, and she's a girl. I'm a bit concerned about how she'll fit in with our all-male team, but my teammates are happy and ready to take care of her. They're really looking out for each other, and they're excited to welcome a new sister into our team. As the leader, I'll try my best to treat her well and make sure she feels included.
The official announcement had been made,and he bid his last goodbye to game as well as to us.
At 11.46AM ,
I was drinking water from the fridge, lost in thought about our new teammate, when
Jaeyun : Brother Hee, when will she arrive? I'm excited to welcome her!
I side-eyed him, amused by his over-the-top enthusiasm.
Jaeyun : I had decorated her room with a Pinterest-inspired aesthetic. I was pretty sure that if our new teammate was a gamer girl,she'd hate the pink colour.
Me : 'Meoya?' ( throwing water at Jaeyun in a moment of playful frustration )
Jaeyun : Ahhh, brother hee, I have to bath again 😤
I was just giggling inside my head, cause yk, my teammates are so annoying. Especially this Jaeyun and Beomgyu.They always annoy me in every possible way.Oh sorry, I forgot to tell you about my brothers. But, at first I gonna tell you my teammates role.
- Lee Heeseung or Evan (me) : Top lane role: Typically played by tanky champions who absorb damage, protect allies, and initiate team fights, often acting as the team's frontline.
- Han Yujin : Jungle role: Plays in the jungle, farms monster camps, and ganks (surprise attacks) lanes to disrupt enemies and help teammates.
- Beomgyu : Marksman/ADC role: Deals physical damage from a distance, usually played in the bot lane, and relies on attack damage and critical strikes to take down enemies.
- Jaeyun : Support role: Helps teammates by providing utility, protection, crowd control, and vision control, often prioritizing their teammates' safety and success over personal gain.
Mid lane role : Mid laner: Deals magical damage, roaming, and influencing team fights, often playing AP (ability power) champions.
My new teammate is mid lane. She is one of the top Yasuo player in south korea. Everyone knows her name but didn't know what's she look like. Her name is Ahn Ji-eun or Binnie shortly.
I was sitting on the couch with Yujin, watching the baseball match with him. Beomgyu walked into the kitchen, looking for something. Suddenly, he let out a loud shout.Oh, J think the show had started.
Beomgyu : Who ate my kimchi snacks?! I know I had some left in the kitchen!
(Jaeyun, who had just come out of the bathroom, was standing near the TV, watching the game with a towel wrapped around his hair. He smiled mischievously.)
Jeayun : Ah, yeah... I ate those. Oppadee, I was craving something spicy at 3 am, so I ate them all.
(Beomgyu's face turned red with annoyance.)
Beomgyu: You always eat my snacks, Jaeyun! Can't you just leave some for me? My snacks, not just yours!
Jeayun : Ha! You're always complaining about something, Beomgyu-hyung. I didn't know they were your personal snacks.
(Beomgyu started sulking, and both he and Jaeyun began complaining to me.)
Beomgyu: Heeseung-ah, can you believe this guy? He always eats my snacks and then acts like it's no big deal! Eojineun nal!
Jeayun : Brother Hee, tell him he's being unfair. He's always hoarding snacks and then gets mad when I eat them. Gajang eobsneun yuhyeong!
(Yujin and I exchanged a look, both of us amused by the situation. Yujin tried to intervene.)
Yujin : (whispering to me) "Brother Hee, Let's go get some fresh air. It's nice outside.
(But before we could move, Beomgyu and Jaeyun continued arguing.)
Beomgyu : I'm telling you, Heeseung-ah, he's always doing this! Eating all my snacks and then smiling about it. Uri snacks, jal mos hae!
Jaeyun : And I'm telling you, Brother Hee,he's always being dramatic about nothing. It's just snacks, Beomgyu-hyung! Hwangap-julgeoya!
(Yujin tried to quietly pull me away from the scene, but Beomgyu and Jaeyun just kept complaining to me.)
(I couldn't help but got annoyed at the absurdity of the situation, watching my friends bicker back and forth.)
And then
Me : Is this how you're gonna behave in front of your new sister teammate? Huh?
Then the two went silent.
Me : Guys, stop being so noisy. I'll buy you snacks, okay? And note that you're gonna live with a girl. Behave well, or it'll make her uncomfortable.
And then I headed to the supermarket to grab some snacks at 7:00 pm.
As I walked into the supermarket, I noticed a pretty girl kneeling down next to a small girl who was crying. The little girl looked lost, and the woman was trying to comfort her.
The women:(softly) Shh, gwaenchana, little one. We'll find your mom and dad soon. Don't worry.
I approached them, feeling a bit concerned. "Annyeonghaseyo, is everything okay? What's wrong?"
The woman looked up, and our eyes met. She had a kind smile.
The women: This little girl lost her parents. We're trying to find them.
I nodded, feeling sympathetic. "Ah, poor thing. Let's see... Maybe we can ask the staff to make an announcement?"
She nodded, and together we helped the little girl find her parents. When they finally reunited, the parents were overjoyed.
The mother thanked us profusely, beaming with gratitude.
The mother : Gamsahamnida! You two are so sweet. Are you a couple?
The women and I exchanged an awkward glance, and we both quickly denied it. "No, no, we're just strangers who helped," I said, trying to downplay it.
The women : Yeah, we just happened to be here.
The mother smiled knowingly.
The mother : Ah, well, you two would make a cute couple.What are your names? I want to thank properly. Yk, I got so worried.
The women introduced herself as Ahn Eun-ji,and the mother asked about our jobs. Eun-ji told her she was a divorce lawyer, and I mentioned I was... well, I didn't get to finish before the mother started chatting about her own life.
After a few minutes of small talk, the mother finally wrapped up her conversation. As we said our goodbyes, Eun-ji and I exchanged smiles.Then she bid her goodbye and we parted ways.
As I walked away, I thought about Ahn Eun-ji's kindness and reassuring words. It was rare to see humanity like that, and I felt a sense of appreciation for our brief encounter.
As I walked in the door, Beomgyu and Jaeyun immediately sprang into action.
Beomgyu: Heeseung-ah, sit down, sit down! You must be tired. (handing me a glass of water)
Jaeyun started massaging my shoulders, trying to ease the tension.
Jaeyun : Yeah, brother Hee, you've had a long day. Relax.
I smiled, feeling a bit touched by their concern. Guys, you don't have to do this. Go, enjoy your snacks. I'm fine.
Beomgyu and Jaeyun exchanged a look, but I could see the amusement in their eyes. Yujin, who was sitting on the couch, couldn't help but smile at the scene.
Yujin : Just relax, Heeseung-hyung , after you went, these two hugged infront of me. Here is the picture 😂
