The small encampment had been completely finished by the time the colosseum's area had finished making its repairs. It had been nearly a full day's time since the fight began. And with the exception of two of the members- Caotan, and Gale- Empress, Lyca, Maxim, and Zald had been fighting the whole time, with their full force. They were a true testament to their insane combat stamina.
However, while the guild members were actively counting the kills and respawns, they noticed there truly was just a minor delay the fight could literally go on forever. Other members took matters into their own hands to follow the exploits of each individual to the best of their ability. But, it was difficult.
"How many does that make now?"
"I have no idea. But it's at least 20 thousand monsters."
"Damn. She really is the Empress for a reason!"
A level 5 came over and forced that guy's head down. "Don't poke your head up that high. Unless you want to die."
"Uh, no, thank you, adventurer, I'll be more careful from now on."
"You better. Soon you won't have people as fast as us ready to help you if you fuck up like that again."
"What do you mean?"
"Us level 5s and 6s are about to get our turn, finally! After that idiot's grand display, it pushed back our time too much."
"Hey, who are you calling an idiot?!"
"Would you rather me call you Gale the pervy wind, or some shit?"
"Oh, so you're just jealous, I got it."
The level 5 sighed, looked at the guild member, and spoke. "See what I have to deal with? He's too horny for his own good."
"Uh, yeah… Say, about that boy out there… He's level 4, but our records show he's killing monsters at about the same rate as Zald the Glutton."
"He's an anomaly, you're better off abandoning any sense of normalcy when talking about him. Of course, I guess one could say that about any of us. But with him, it's especially true… I don't know why, but he's way stronger than he looks."
"Interesting…"
Out in the arena Shurry was having an absolute blast, devouring meaty monsters, and crushing the boney ones… He'd already learned before that the spartoi don't have any bone marrow, and are thus useless, and disgusting.
Maxim looked over, and around the arena. "Alright, Lyca, Zald, switch out with other members. But remain on standby until your replacements get into the grove."
"Got it!"
"Ah, yes, finally. I'd been waiting for a chance to clean my sword."
"Alfia, make sure to keep the area right around the encampment free and clear of monsters."
"Gospel."
Any monsters within the immediate area were crushed instantly. Alfia's magic was simply that overwhelming. It provided the chance for a clean swap out of fighters. A level 6 and 2 level 5s took Lyca's place, and the same happened for Zald.
"Hey! You're supposed to be handling 20% of the monsters! Get your shit together!"
"Ladies, are you going to just let that cutie show you up?"
The two shout out towards their replacements. A guild member, clearly confused. "Would positive words help them? Like, you can do it!"
"Yeah, but this is faster." Zald stated, coldly.
Lyca continued watching the performance of her replacements. Disappointed with them quite a bit. "I know they can do much better than this…" She then made up her mind. "HEY SHURRY! HELP THEM OUT WHENEVER."
"I CAN HUNT MORE!" Shurry shouted back all excited, letting out a howl announcing his intentions. "I'm hungry, and I see LOT'S OF MEAT!"
The sudden burst caused his coverage to increase from 20% of the monster spawns, to 30%. The difference was huge, and yet, he was loving it, to him it was like a never ending buffet.
"He's so powerful. And CUTE! Come ladies, let's push harder."
"Men, let's stop holding back. We came for monster blood, let's harvest some!"
There was now a competition for monster kills. Despite their new enthusiasm Shurry only lost 2% of the hunting area. And it didn't seem like it was going to change any more, anytime soon.
"This is my hunting ground! Get your own!" Shurry yelled at them whenever the other members were about to cross over his line.
"Alright, alright, you can have it. Just don't start slacking, boy!"
"Hey, be nice to him!"
"I am!"
The tension, and competition had risen to the apex, and finally the replacement members had got into the grove. Soon the process was repeated for Empress, and then once more for Maxim. But it didn't change anymore.
"Sir Maxim? Why aren't you switching the boy out with anyone?"
"Do you like eating monster meat?" Zald interjected.
"Not particularly."
"Then don't complain. If he came in here before filling his belly, he'd eat all of our supplies. Fact is, my title fits him far more than me."
"Alright then… Could I ask about that monster from before?"
"The Juggernaut?" Maxim asked, hoping this idiot would just leave him alone for a moment.
"Yes, what level is it exactly?"
"It changes depending on the floor it spawns. Here on this flour it should be somewhere around level 7. But since I didn't fight it myself, specifics are going to be a bit difficult to get."
"I understand, thank you."
"Supervisor, supervisor, the boy, Shurry, his estimated monster kill count has gone above 50 thousand monsters."
"That little brat surpassed my number already? Wow, he's good." Empress smirked.
"He's always been powerful. But now we can get a much better measure of his ability. Isn't that right Lyca?"
"A hunt is always the best way to determine a werewolf's power. I'm just curious when he'll come back."
A guild member started noticing something. "Uh, I've been going over the data, and it seems that monster spawns here are a bit random, but there's an element of certainty, more barbarians are going to start spawning for the next few hours."
"Well, he won't be back for a few hours, get some rest, Lyca."
"I guess I should."
Some more time passed, and the replacements started faltering, their exhaustion had finally outpaced their stamina. They were swapped out with the mass of level 3s and 4s. Giving Alraj a chance to finally shine with his own ability.
Shurry on the other hand didn't leave, he saw this as a chance to hunt more, though… He definitely started to get a little tired. Eventually, he was swapped out, and then passed out, in between Lyca and Empress.
