Chapter 110 - C110 : Colosseum Raid (1)

The rest period was about half a day's time before the expedition team moved out. The guild members that had signed up to take part in this mission were privy to a front row seat to just how terrifying the dungeon truly was… And just how insanely powerful the adventurers truly were.

Though, one of the guild members in particular had basically fought tooth and claw to come down with everyone. Their reason was because the knowledge that Shurry would be going had been leaked. So, she begged, and pleaded to come along. Now she rode on the back of one of his wolves, and somehow she was able to sense the monster's feelings, it wasn't really a monster anymore, it was a wolf serving as a loyal member of the pack. She could also see first hand just how powerful Shurry was, slicing and dicing through the monsters like they were nothing more than a warm up.

She wasn't the only one left without words, the other guild members could scarcely believe their eyes. Lyca noticed it, and decided to address this issue as soon as possible. "Listen, you may wonder why our formation is the way it is, correct?"

"Yeah, putting a child up in the vanguard seemed ridiculous at first but now I'm just curious about what his level is… And where did he come from?"

"Hahaha! I can't just reveal information not available to the public yet, but… Hey little nephew, come here."

"Yes, aunty? Quick! I wanna hunt more prey!"

"Has Lady Hathor taken you to the guild yet?"

"Huh? Oh! Yeah, mommy did that a few days ago! She said we had to report my level up. Is that all aunty? I can hear the prey begging to be hunted. Lemme hunt, lemme hunt." Shurry's head turned towards the front position, and then to Lyca, and back again, several times.

"Yeah, that's all. Go play."

"Yay! Ready or not, Prey!!!! HERE I COME!" Shurry dashed off towards the front again, slaying monsters left, right, and center.

"Well there you have it… The guild knows that he is level 4."

"Surely he's more than that? Some of the monsters he's slain like a hot knife through butter are also level 4s…"

"He's just that good. He'll make any werewolf proud to be one."

"So there's something different about him then. I see…"

Lyca glared with that predator's gaze. "Remember you swore not to tell any secrets, so don't go blabbing it to the world."

"I understand. I'm just shocked to see this, it's all new to me, and some of it shatters my comprehension of what adventurers were really able to do."

"We have our strongest nearby those who are too weak to protect themselves, so what you see him doing, any one of us could pull it off in our own ways."

"I see…"

"Lady Lycan. I've felt strange ever since being this close to the alpha. Is that normal?"

"Heh, pay attention to the fight later on, and you'll see for yourself."

…

The large group arrived at the first entry to the colosseum, and left the weaker group behind to take care of this point, while the rest pushed forward, and the cartographers began working nonstop. Occasionally asking to stop to make sure their lines were perfectly well drawn.

"I apologize for all the pauses, I know it puts extra strain on you adventurers."

"No need to worry about it. See Shurry over there? He's loving every second of this."

"I can tell, the alpha really does like hunting."

"Love hunting… He loves hunting."

…

Eventually they reached the next entrance to the colosseum, and left more people behind, then continued pushing forward. They repeated this long, and arduous process until all groups had been put into position, and the path had been completely mapped out. There was a brief moment where the final team with Shurry had a few moments to rest.

Shurry was laying on his belly, holding his face up by his cheeks, smiling with anticipation, kicking his feet into the air, just relaxing… Or rather, it looked like he was relaxing, in reality he was trying his best to not rush forward to devour all the prey in sight.

Rose Fannett, the girl, a little older than even Neze, crouched down next to Shurry. This was the first time she got a real good close up view of him and she just looked at him, and then reached out to pet him.

"Huh? Why are you patting my head?"

"Because I wanted to?" She then continued… "What are you smiling about?"

"Eating all that prey. They look yummy, sadly there's not much in the seasoning department down here, but at least the bloody taste of meat is still very good!"

"Prey? Where?"

"Right there, in that big room."

"I see monsters."

"Yep, they're my prey. I'm gonna eat em up real good."

Shurry licked his lips, sat up, cross legged, his head was still being rubbed, by Rose's hand. It started to feel good, and then a little better than good, a bonding moment between two wolves.

"Alright, Shurry. It's time. Why don't you go ahead and give the signal… Oh, Rose Fannett was it? Can you control your transformed state?"

"Not really, I've never had a need to learn. But that's fairly common for us werewolves, sir."

"Then don't look up. Better yet, don't look at anything that would get you to see it…"

"See what?"

"Outer Moon!"

And with that, Shurry ran into the room, unable to hold back any more. His instincts were telling him to eat, and eat, and eat. And right now, fortunately for him, there was plenty of food just waiting to be eaten.

"PREY! LOTS OF PREY!"

Like a comet, he tore through the monsters, devouring them as he did.

Also, at the same time, Rose looked up to see the skill Shurry just used.

And the four teams all charged into the colosseum from all four bridges. Creating a four sided pincer attack. The monsters usually would have been an overwhelming wave, but with their forces split into four directions, and a chief acting as a main frontliner, the group supported, the damage was limited.

However, Shurry, free from the bounds of the simple bridges, ran through the air to the center of the colosseum, letting out a powerful howl. And then dive bombed on the floor of the center arena. The monster slaughter was on. With his ability to rapidly deal with the monsters at a rate nearly equal to that of all four groups combined… A result of the bridges limiting their efforts by a substantial margin. Everyone was able to push to the other side of the bridges, and eventually down into the colosseum center, where they would establish their base of operations.
