Jayvaughn stared at Axel for a long moment, the shock of being ordered out by his boyfriend washing over his rage. He didn't argue. He just clicked his tongue in sharp irritation, turned on his heel, and walked out of the room. The door shut behind him with a quiet thud that felt loud in the sudden silence.
Axel let out a huge sigh—a sound of sheer emotional and physical exhaustion. He pushed himself away from Marlon and walked the short distance back to the bed, sinking down onto the mattress. He was so incredibly tired of all the drama.
"Do you know when the doctor said I can be discharged?" Axel asked Marlon, trying to focus on something practical.
Marlon shook his head, looking troubled. "I don't know, big brother. They haven't said anything yet."
Axel sighed again, already feeling the weight of the hospital room closing in on him. He was seriously tired of staying here, confined and injured.
