It was clear that the Nine Tails was completely uncooperative—just like Tamamo-mae had once been in the beginning. In fact, its resistance was even more intense. Even after suffering such humiliating treatment, even after enduring what could only be described as the ultimate insult—being aggressively cuddled by four people in turns—the proud Nine Tails still refused to submit. It remained defiant to the end, standing by the principle: "A Tailed Beast will never be a slave."
Its attitude was firm, unyielding—a testament to its proud and unbreakable spirit.
Seeing this, Naruto Uzumaki could only worry helplessly. The Nine Tails's stubbornness left him feeling powerless. There was nothing more he could do but entrust the matter to someone else.
As for Uchiha Kei and the others, they weren't concerned at all. They had already experienced the Nine Tails's pride firsthand; this otherworld version wasn't anything new.
Tamamo-mae, however, seeing this fierce and unyielding Nine Tails, couldn't help but reflect on her "past" self. Indeed, that had been her once upon a time.
So, with a meaningful look, Tamamo-mae gently stroked the Nine Tails's "dog head" and said, "Remember your pride now, my other self—because once you experience the joy of the game, the freedom and happiness of the Genjutsu World, and taste things like cola, fried chicken, French fries, and chicken wings, you will come to understand just how miserable your previous life really was."
To this, the Nine Tails scoffed disdainfully, clearly unfazed by Tamamo-mae's "threats." It believed its will was unshakable.
This reaction only made Tamamo-mae more amused at how naïve her past self had been—completely unaware of the true terror of sugar-coated bullets.
That thought sparked a strange kind of delight in Tamamo-mae—the joy of wanting to strictly discipline and break her "other self," and the guilty pleasure of witnessing the birth of black history.
With that, Tamamo-mae shot Uchiha Kei a glance. The two shared a certain tacit understanding. Kei smiled and nodded, sending a private message via the system:
\[Don't worry! I've enabled the recording function. From here on, you can fully document the Nine Tails's transformation.]
Reading this message, Tamamo-mae's crimson lips curled into a satisfied smile. Uchiha Kei truly understood her intention and had provided both the opportunity and the tools.
With this setup, Tamamo-mae felt she could skip tonight's usual online PvP with Radama and Muzi. After all, she could battle those two every day. But the chance to train another version of herself? That wasn't something that came often.
At that, Tamamo-mae turned to Naruto Uzumaki. "Young one, leave your Nine Tails with me for now. I'll have a good conversation with him here in the Genjutsu World."
Naruto hesitated. "Uh, I don't really mind... but I can't stay in the Genjutsu World forever, right? If I leave, won't the Nine Tails go with me?"
Tamamo-mae smiled. "Don't worry. This Genjutsu World is a special place. Unlike humans, a Tailed Beast's will can be anchored here. Since we share the same origin, I've locked his chakra signature. Unless we release him, his consciousness will remain here."
"Of course, you do need to stay within a certain range of Kei-kun. If you wander too far from the Genjutsu signal's influence, the illusion will collapse."
"So when you go back, make sure not to leave the Hidden Leaf carelessly."
Naruto's eyes lit up, and he quickly nodded. "Got it! I wasn't planning on leaving the Leaf anyway. We'll be staying here for a while."
Tamamo-mae nodded, then turned to Uchiha Kei and Minato Namikaze. "Kei-kun, Minato, leave him to me for the next few days. I'll make him realize just how foolish the things he once held onto really were."
"Hmph!" the Nine Tails snorted in frustration, furious and indignant, but unable to resist Tamamo-mae at all.
Minato smiled and nodded in gratitude. Uchiha Kei also nodded, entrusting the matter to Tamamo-mae.
Though her request had deviated slightly from their original plan, given how enthusiastic she was about breaking in another version of herself, they had no intention of interfering.
As long as the ultimate goal was achieved—reconciliation between the otherworldly Nine Tails and Naruto Uzumaki—anything else could be overlooked.
Tamamo-mae clearly understood that objective. Since she volunteered to take charge, it meant she had the confidence to tame the Nine Tails. Why wouldn't Minato and Kei support that?
And so, the fate of the otherworldly Nine Tails was sealed.
Tamamo-mae carried the utterly depressed, lifeless Nine Tails away, heading toward her personal Mini-World, where she would show her "self" what true happiness meant.
After Tamamo-mae left, Uchiha Kei and the others exited the Genjutsu World as well. They told Naruto to get some rest and then departed.
It was already late. Now that the Nine Tails matter had been settled for the time being, it was time to rest.
Before leaving, Uchiha Kei handed Naruto three entry tickets—VIP passes for tomorrow's new game launch event.
Naruto had no idea what a game launch was, but since it came from "Uncle Kei," he accepted it gratefully.
Later, after washing up and lying in bed, Naruto found himself unable to sleep. Too much had happened today, and it filled his mind with unrest.
After tossing and turning for a while, he sat up and gently touched his stomach—the site of the Eight Trigrams Seal, the gateway to the seal space.
Closing his eyes, he focused his senses inward. Inside the seal space, the Nine Tails was clearly asleep, just as Tamamo-mae had said. Without actively releasing him, the Nine Tails's will remained trapped in the Genjutsu World.
"I wonder how he's doing now\... Miss Tamamo-mae wouldn't be too harsh with him, right?"
He muttered softly, clearly worried.
Though the two didn't get along and were often at odds, after so many years, it was impossible not to have developed some feelings. If Naruto hadn't formed some attachment to the Nine Tails, he wouldn't have spoken of saving him in the original story, nor would he have eventually reconciled with him and become partners.
Even if never spoken aloud, Naruto had long considered the Nine Tails someone who grew up with him.
But things were already in motion. Worrying now would change nothing. All he could do was trust that Miss Tamamo-mae wouldn't harm another version of herself and wait with hope.
So how was the Nine Tails doing?
Inside Tamamo-mae's Mini-World, the Nine Tails was hunched over an arcade cabinet, paws frantically mashing the buttons as his character fought fiercely on screen.
Across from him, Tamamo-mae was calmly and elegantly playing the same game: *King of Fighters '98* — a classic arcade fighting game from Earth.
The Nine Tails's expression was intense and anxious, exuding the aura of a furious try-hard gamer: "Damn it! With the magnetic field of a million horses spinning, I must win!"
Unfortunately, in terms of skill, he couldn't compare to Tamamo-mae, who had been playing for many "years." She easily demolished him, handing him his 100th straight crushing defeat.
The Nine Tails was devastated. His entire fox body trembled. He wanted to flip the cabinet.
Too bad the machine was permanently anchored. Even in full form, he couldn't damage it, much less in this shrunken state.
Defeated, he grabbed a nearby cola and took a deep, angry gulp, draining it in one breath.
Instantly, the fizzy sweetness burst in his mouth, the "happy water" restoring his shattered spirit.
Seeing this, Tamamo-mae smiled. "Well? Want to go again? You don't need to feel bad. After all, comparing your skills to mine is like a star trying to outshine the sun. Feel free to surrender—I won't mock you."
The Nine Tails's expression darkened. Gritting his teeth, he seethed. "What do you mean 'won't mock me'?! That's exactly what you're doing!"
Time flowed ten times faster in the Mini-World. Though only a few hours had passed outside, nearly two days had passed inside.
In those two days, the Nine Tails had experienced Tamamo-mae's full trash-talking capabilities—a skill she had refined through countless illusion-based battles.
She never cursed or insulted loved ones. Her trash talk was purely skill-based, mocking his poor technique, bad attitude, and lack of talent. No repetition, always fresh. Even mentally prepared, the Nine Tails couldn't cope.
The worst part? He couldn't even talk back. He had no comeback, and he couldn't win.
He had learned one thing: never get into a verbal fight with Tamamo-mae. Never give her an opening.
Like now, even knowing he'd lose again, the Nine Tails snarled, "Start the next round! I'm going to win this time!"
And so, the battle between two foxes resumed.
