Chapter 2 Escape
My body shifted, my bones rearranging themselves.
The pain was unbearable.
"Don't let that bastard get out alive!"
The king glared at me, like a snake baring its fangs.
Clang!
I dodged just right in time.
As my wings dashed across a window.
Crack.
It shattered, pieces falling onto the ground.
"Mages!"
"Y–yes!"
As I made my way outside, the mages seemed to be chanting a spell.
'Fuck, let's just hope it doesn't hit me.'
"Fire!"
Bang!
"Kiek."
A groan let out of my mouth.
The recoil from the impact was too much.
Everything in my body seemed to be breaking at this rate.
"Huuuaaagh."
I took a deep breath.
'Atleast I'm outside now.'
"Find that bastard and don't let him get out alive!"
The king yelled so loudly I could hear his anger boiling outside of the palace.
Just as angry he was, I too was feeling the same.
'Fucking bastard, I'll get you back for this!'
I made up my mind, I was gonna kill him after I'd get stronger.
Kill him? That wasn't enough.
I'd make sure his kingdom would be in ruins to me.
Thud.
'Fuck'
The guards and mages were outside now.
'Let's just get the hell out of here.'
I rushed my way quickly gaining distance from them.

'These should be enough distance right?'
Rustle–
'Where the hell I am?'
My body felt a tingling sensation as the wind blew past me.
It was cold, precisely because it was night time.
I was lost somewhere on a forest.
'Let's just focus on surviving for now.'
'Hieek!'
My body kept shivering from the cold.
Quickly, my mind devised a solution.
I'd seen videos of surviving alone in the wild countless times.
The number one thing you had to do in situations like this was.
A fire.
I needed a fire to sooth my cold body.
The materials needed to start a fire was wood.
Typically branches of them.
I stood up, my legs shaking.
I had exhausted my strength running away from the chase.
Still, I continued to push through.
A minute later…
'This should be enough to start a fire right?'
I lined up the branches with stones as the border.
Now, I was ready to start the fire.
Rubbing two dry branches was the fastest way to start a fire.
So I did that.
Rustle–
'Fucking winds.'
Just as I was about to start a fire, a fucking wind came to ruin everything.
'Huff.'
"I shouldn't let my emotions control in a time and place like this."
"Stay calm, Seungho."
"What's the point of your revenge if you can't even do something like this?"
"…"
My head whispered to me like I had another version of me.
But deep down, it was all just in my head trying to calm myself down.
'Let's start again.'
I rubbed the two branches again.
Smoke slowly rose again.
This time, I covered the direction with myself where air kept pouring in.
Rustle–
"Not this time you bastard."
Slowly, a spark ignited.
Then a fire came.
"Huff."
My mouth blew out air.
The fire got stronger, eventually to the point the environment around me got warm.
"Let's go…"
My arms raised upwards, like I had reinvented the wheel.
'Shit, there's no food.'
'Nah, I'll just find food tomorrow.'
Despite my stomach grumbling looking for food.
It was night time and I wouldn't want any predators to eat me and die like that.
'Let's just sleep now and plan for tomorrow."
Luckily, I had my uniform.
The uniform which I didn't wore off after coming home playing games.
I quickly took off my uniform and placed it on the ground.
As I slowly descended my body.
I was reminded by the events that just happened.
Was everything real? Or was this just a dream?
Was I gonna stay in this world forever?
'It's pointless to think about it.'
Reality was in front of me.
And survival for my safety was my top priority.
As my body slowly drifted into the darkness.
The sky glowed brightly with countless stars as I looked at them.
And the warm environment from the fire soothed my cold body.
'Goodnight myself.'

I shrugged my shoulders off as I prepared to stand up.
The sunlight flashed at me brightly as I took a glance of it.
I covered my head with my hand trying to minimize the rays coming from me.
"Let's check out my ability for now…"
Despite prioritizing to find food right now.
I was too curious about my ability.

My hands were shaking, my eyes opened up like I had seen a ghost.

"Do I really have to see them beforehand to activate?"

I stood up like I was frozen, my expression disappointed by the last restriction.
