"He doesn't know I'm coming."
John Green stood up from the chair and walked over, "What delicious food did you make?"
"I bought dozens of fresh wontons this morning, and I was a bit hungry after work so I cooked some. I thought you were working overtime, so I brought you some, but it turns out you've already eaten."
"I've eaten, but I'm still a bit hungry."
The smile on Lucy's face faded a little, "You had a big bowl of noodles and you're still hungry? Aren't you worried about bursting?"
"I don't know what's going on, but my appetite has been really good lately."
John Green opened the lunchbox and started eating with chopsticks in hand.
"In the future, when you work night shifts, I'll come to keep you company."
This wasn't a discussion; it was a decision made directly.
