"Lucy, your aunt heard from the nurse that you drive a pink car worth several millions, is that... true?"
"What if it is true? What if it's not?" Lucy Eaton retorted.
"No no, just curious," Aunty Yin pressed on, "Just tell aunty the truth."
"That's not something you should be concerned about." Lucy turned and left.
By not outright denying it, Aunty Yin took it as a tacit confirmation.
As she watched Lucy walk away, Aunty Yin quietly followed behind.
On reaching the first floor, after Lucy stepped out of the elevator, she quickly dodged into a corner. Aunty Yin rushed down the stairs, looked around, and when she turned, she was startled to find Lucy standing right behind her.
"Lu... Lucy..."
"Trying to see if I really drive a pink car?"
Aunty Yin replied awkwardly, "I just wanted to confirm it."
"And then?"
"What?"
"What then, once confirmed?"
