The negotiations between the two started right where both Odin and Kakashi landed.
Odin's voice broke the silence, firm but calm. "While I understand what Loki did was barbaric, I will not give you my son. That's not up for negotiation."
Kakashi's eye crinkled, his thoughts resigned. 'He's a father, after all. Can't blame him for protecting his kid, even a son like Loki who wants to kill his brother.'
"Fair enough," he said, his voice steady. 'Fury won't like it, but I'm not dragging a god to Earth. Not that I would be able to.'
Odin's tone softened, a sly edge creeping in. "In light of Asgard protecting Midgard from what you call alien invasions… can this matter be cast aside?"
Kakashi's thoughts raced. 'He's playing the protector card. Asgard's name alone keeps aliens at bay—Fury's paranoia would ease if he knew that. I know this from Kamar Taj. Now I can reveal this information to Fury safely since I can say that I got this information from the King of Asgard itself.'
He recalled Fury's endless briefings, the man's obsession with extraterrestrial threats.
'Fury's probably wondering why Earth hasn't been invaded yet. This info could calm him down, though he'd still squint at Asgard like it's a trap.'
"Would Asgard keep protecting Earth after all this?" Kakashi asked, his voice probing.
Odin nodded, his voice resolute. "Yes. While Midgard is not part of Asgard, I am overseer of the Nine Realms. Earth, as you call it, is my responsibility. Rest assured, it will be protected. Even after I am dead, it would be followed by my successor too."
Kakashi's thoughts settled. 'That's a solid deal. Fury gets his security blanket, and I don't have to fight one of the strongest beings in the universe again. But he will probably want something more, I can give him the information about Asgard. He would want to know about the infrastructure and technology here especially the weapons and aircrafts.'
"Alright, I'll take that to my boss. But I am not sure that he would be happy with just that."
'It would be better than nothing.'
Odin's eye twinkled, his voice cheeky. "Well, Midgardian, I can offer you information that might help convince your boss. Information that could be helpful to you particularly."
Kakashi's eye narrowed, his thoughts amused. 'Trying to buy me off with intel that I need so that I can convince Fury? He's been king for atleast a millennium—he knows how to play the political game.'
"What kind of information?"
Odin's tone turned serious. "I cannot send you home, I'm afraid."
Kakashi sighed, his thoughts heavy. 'Figured as much. Stuck in this world for now.'
"Thought so. Anything else?"
Odin's gaze sharpened, his voice carrying weight. "Your eyes. They hold the power of divinity."
Kakashi's thoughts froze. "Go on."
Odin stepped closer, his thoughts deep with ancient knowledge. "Your eyes wield divinity, like Thor's divinity of lightning. But he wields his power poorly compared to you. I wish you'd met me centuries ago—I could've used you to teach Thor mastery over his divinity."
Kakashi's eye crinkled, amused. 'Me, a teacher for a god? Jiraiya-san would've laughed.'
"Flattering, but what's so special about my eyes?"
Odin's voice grew grave. "What's shocking is not that they contain divinity, but that they hold the essence of many gods. I sense the Amatsu-Kami in them—an entire pantheon."
Kakashi's thoughts reeled.
'All of them? That can't be right. I don't have every Mangekyou ability I've seen. On the top of my head, I don't have Amaterasu. Let's just ask him why does he think so.' Kakashi thought
"All? I've got limits. My abilities don't match every Amatsu Kami ability that I know off."
Odin nodded, his thoughts piecing together this cosmic puzzle.
"I believe I know why. The Amatsu-Kami sealed themselves in a pocket dimension long ago. No one knows if they still exist or have perished. When they walked Midgard, their divine essence lingered, forming artifacts. But much of it remained, scattered across the universe, seeking to reunite with its source. But the essence never found his way back to then."
Kakashi's eye widened, his thoughts racing. 'Scattered divine essence?'
"And it found me?"
Odin's voice was certain. "Your eyes. They contain a power akin to the Amatsu-Kami. When you arrived in Asgard, the divine essence here vanished, drawn to your eyes. You, warrior from another reality, have the potential to wield the core abilities of an entire pantheon. In time, you would unlock more of their abilities as you gather more of their essense."
Kakashi stood silent, processing. He gave Odin a nod. "That's… a lot to take in."
Odin said "Use it wisely warrior from another reality, Such power can reshape worlds—or destroy them."
Kakashi and Odin turned, their eyes falling on Thor and Loki. Thor stood protectively near his brother, Mjölnir in hand, while Loki's spear hummed with suppressed energy. Both brothers looked tense.
As both Kakashi and Odin looked at the brothers, they collectively sighed.
Thor noticed this, asked eagerly, "Is it over, Father? Have you emerged victorious?"
Kakashi's hand twitched, a kunai slipping from his pouch. He flicked the kunai at Loki, who shimmered and vanished—an illusion. Thor's eyes widened, his voice a roar. "LOKI!"
