Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Kakashi Vs Hulk (1)

General Thaddeus Ross eyes were fixed on one man—Hound, the mercenary with silver hair and a masked face.

One moment, Hound was beside Ross, his posture deceptively casual. The next, he was a blur, appearing in front of a soldier just as the Hulk's massive fist descended.

The soldier would've been paste, but Hound grabbed him, vanishing and reappearing ten meters away in a heartbeat. Ross's jaw tightened, 'Fast. Faster than any super-soldier I've seen. Enhanced, no question.'

He watched as Hound's hands flashed through a series of precise gestures, too quick for a normal human.

The ground rumbled, and a thick wall of earth erupted in front of the Hulk. Ross's eyes narrowed. 'What the hell is that?' The Hulk roared, smashing the wall with a single punch, reducing it to rubble.

But Hound was already gone and brought the soldier back to safety and the mercenary was back in the fray, darting toward the monster.

Ross's thoughts churned.

'This guy's more than just a super soldier. He is better.' The Hulk was a force of nature, uncontrollable, a weapon Ross had dreamed of harnessing since Banner's accident. But Hound? 'He was managing to fight Hulk and was in control of himself. If I can figure out his power, he could be the perfect soldier.'

The mercenary's head tilted, and Ross caught a glimpse of his eye—red, with three spinning tomoe. "What the fuck is that?"

Ross muttered, his voice low, almost drowned out by the Hulk's roars.

The Hulk's punch had obliterated Kakashi's mud wall.

'One hit, and I'm human ketchup,' Kakashi thought, his eye crinkling with dry amusement. 'I need to dodge everything this guy throws.'

And so he opened his Mangekyou sharingan since these days Kamui was his shortcut for whenever he did not want to get hurt.

'Alright, I can't engage him in taijutsu since I would likely end up with broken bones. Normally, I would attack him from distance but Kamui gives me the advantage to stay close. Lightening Blade is an option but even if I hit himz I doubt he would be knocked unconscious with just one strike. Let's try genjutsu. It's the simplest and the easiest option.'

The Hulk charged, his fist a green blur aimed at Kakashi's chest. Kakashi activated Kamui, his body phasing through the attack like a ghost, reappearing behind the monster.

As Hulk turned back, Kakashi locked eyes with the Hulk, his Sharingan pulsing as he attempted a genjutsu.

'Let's see if I can make this monster sleep.' , But the Hulk's eyes burned with rage, his chakra network—a storm of green energy— that resisted the genjutsu instantly.

'He is too angry? My genjutsu doesn't even get a foothold. This guy is immune to Genjutsu. His energy seems to be acting like how a tailed beast prevents a jinchurikis from being caught in a genjutsu.' Kakashi was confused by this since he barely understand what just happened.

The Hulk swung again, and Kakashi phased through with Kamui.

'Alright, Plan A's a bust. Time to immobilize him." He made distance and then flashed through hand signs, channeling chakra into the ground. "Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld!"

The campus lawn turned to viscous mud, infused with chakra to make it stickier, stronger. The Hulk sank into it, his massive legs trapped as the mud clung like tar.

The monster roared, thrashing with enough force to shake the ground. Kakashi watched, his Sharingan tracking every movement.

'This jutsu won't hold him long.' The Hulk's raw strength was somethiyelse, the mud loosened as he clawed his way forward. Kakashi clicked his tongue.

'Tch. Tough guy.'

He reached into his pouch, pulling out ninja wire, its metal glinting in the moonlight. With a flick of his wrist, he circled the Hulk, the wire wrapping around the monster's upper body and arms that have not sunk into the mud.

Kakashi bit the end of the wire, his chakra surging. "Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!"

He exhaled, igniting the wire with a stream of chakra-infused fire. Unlike normal flames, which the Hulk seemed to shrug off, this fire was made by chakra and thus burned hotter, The flames roared along the wire, engulfing the Hulk's torso.

The monster screamed, a mix of pain and rage, his green skin blistering under the unnatural heat. Kakashi's eye narrowed. 'Chakra fire's doing damage. Good.'

From the sidelines, Betty Ross's voice cut through, "Nooooo!" she screamed, her face streaked with tears as she struggled against a soldier holding her back. She turned to her father, her eyes blazing. "Dad, stop him! He's going to kill Bruce!"

Ross stood frozen, his shock overriding his usual control. 'What the hell am I seeing?' Hound's abilities were beyond anything he'd encountered—walls rising from nowhere, eyes that changed color, fire that burned the Hulk.

'This isn't tech or mutation. It's something else. Magic? Alien tech?' His mind raced, torn between awe and schemes.

'If I can harness that power…' But Betty's plea snapped him back. He gripped his radio, hesitating.

'Banner's still in there. If Hound kills him, we lose the Hulk.'

Ross ordered in the comms "Hound, you would not get paid if Banner gets killed. Stop burning him alive."

Kakashi muttered in the intercoms, "You are overestimating me and underestimating this monster, General. The Hulk is not done yet."

As if the Hulk heard him, he roared as he broke through the wire and jumped from the mud. He angrily looked at Kakashi who causally looked back at the Hulk.

"Plan B did not work, Don't tell me that I would have to try Plan D that is rubbing his belly. I don't think that he would like that unlike my hounds and Naruto." Kakashi muttered
