Chapter 24 - Swipe Left on Love

A Few Days After the Inauguration | Evening at Singhania Neev Penthouse, Udaipur

The evening wind swept gently across the private balcony, the sky dimming into velvet. Trisha and Reeva were lost in a heated, silent make-out session, lips tangled and breaths heavy but hushed. Reeva straddled Trisha's lap, her fingers tugging at the collar of Trisha's shirt, both desperate yet careful not to let the world beyond the walls catch even a whisper.

Suddenly—

Tanvi and Yashika (in sync as they walk into the balcony):"Oh my God."

Reeva instantly pulled away. Trisha's hands dropped to her side, the air between them instantly snapping cold. Both looked like kids caught sneaking cookies from the jar.

Trisha (quickly getting up):"Shit… sorry."

Reeva (blushing but composed):"Uhh… we didn't think—"

Tanvi (grinning, arms crossed):"Nope, nope. That's clear."

Yashika (teasing):"Making out on the balcony now? Really?"

Reeva (mumbling while walking past):"Yeah well, it's… you know—private."

Trisha and Reeva disappeared inside, heading straight to Trisha's bedroom.

Back on the balcony:

Tanvi and Yashika exchanged a look.

Tanvi:"They really thought we wouldn't walk in here?"

Yashika (laughing softly):"Honestly, I'm more surprised they weren't naked already."

Their hands brushed unintentionally on the balcony railing.

They looked at each other.

Paused.

But said nothing.

Back inside – Trisha's bedroom

Reeva was on top of Trisha again, back on the couch, her legs around Trisha's waist, lips crashing together. The room glowed with dim golden lamps, the tension hotter than ever. Reeva tugged off her own T-shirt, now only in her bralette, skin against skin. Trisha's hands roamed her waist, the hunger returning full-force—when—

Buzz. Buzz.

A phone lit up.

Reeva (reaching for the phone, assuming it's hers):"Is that mine or yours?"

Trisha (snatching it gently):"Leave it. Focus here."

But Reeva had already seen it. A Tinder notification.

Reeva (pulling away instantly):"Trix… what the actual fuck?"

Trisha (trying to lean in again):"I'll check that later. Seriously, just come here—"

Reeva (shoving her back):"No. You're on Tinder?"

Trisha (confused, then sees the notification):"Oh… a match. I—I don't even remember opening the app."

Reeva (voice rising):"Don't give me that. The fact is, you were out here using Tinder while we've been sleeping together."

Trisha (calm but serious):"Reeva, babe—listen—"

Reeva (cutting her off, voice cracking):"Don't babe me! Was I not enough for you? I mean, yeah—we said it was casual. But does that mean you were still looking?"

Trisha (exhaling, shoulders tight):"We agreed. No strings attached. That was the deal."

Reeva (stepping closer, hands trembling as she cups Trisha's face):"Well, I can't do that anymore, okay? I love you, Trisha."

Trisha (staring in silence)

Reeva (voice breaking):"I love how we wake up together, how you make me laugh when I don't want to. I love… this. Whatever this is. I don't know when it changed. I just know it did."

Trisha (gently moving her hands away):"Reeva… I respect that. But I can't—"

Reeva (angrily):"You don't have to. I got it."

She yanked her T-shirt off the floor and threw it over her head.

Reeva (snapping):"You must've been screwing around with others too. Guess I was just your backup pussy."

Trisha (taken aback):"Reeva—don't do this. Don't cheapen what we had—"

But Reeva was already storming toward the door.

Trisha:"Reeva. Wait—"

Reeva:"Forget it. Just… go back to swiping right."

She slammed her bedroom door shut, locking it behind her.

Cut to: Tanvi and Yashika enter, still smiling from balcony jokes, but stop in their tracks.

Tanvi:"Wait. What happened?"

Yashika:"Where's Reeva?"

Trisha (sitting on the couch, running her hand through her hair, dazed):"She saw a Tinder notification. On my phone."

Tanvi:"Oh shit."

Yashika:"Oh no."

Trisha (quietly):"She told me she loves me."

Tanvi (gently):"And you?"

Trisha (staring at the locked door):"I didn't say it back. I couldn't. I just… froze."

The three of them sat in silence, the emotional wreckage hanging in the air.
