Jiang Chen took out his phone and gave Jiang Yuan a call.

"You're calling me because you need something, aren't you?"

"I am, but it's actually a good thing," Jiang Chen replied with a smile.

"Good news? Judging by your laugh, I have my doubts. Just spill it; I have plenty of work to handle here." As a Champion, Jiang Yuan was incredibly busy and had no time for idle chatter.

"I'm planning to give you a Dragon-type pseudo-legendary with Champion level potential. Do you want it?"

"You're giving me a pseudo-legendary? Why aren't you training it yourself?" Jiang Yuan asked, sounding surprised.

"You'll understand when you get back. If you have the time, come home for a visit."

Jiang Chen didn't elaborate further. He was certain his father wouldn't turn down a Goomy. Unlike Jiang Chen, Jiang Yuan wouldn't be bothered by Goomy's slime. He was more than willing to endure a bit of mess to raise a pseudo-legendary with Champion level talent.

"Fine, I'll head back."

Jiang Yuan figured Jiang Chen wouldn't prank him. He temporarily handed his duties to his assistant, letting them handle the less critical tasks. Then, he rode his Dragonite home. Given Dragonite's speed, the journey from his current location back to Tianhai City didn't take much time at all.

"No wonder you're willing to give me a pseudo-legendary with Champion potential; it's a Goomy."

Jiang Yuan looked at the incredibly timid Goomy. Goomy was often called the weakest Dragon-type Pokémon, and that wasn't wrong among the Dragon-types, Goomy was indeed the weakest. However, that referred specifically to its base form, not its evolutions, Sliggoo and Goodra.

"Goomy is a bit weak, but its combat power isn't bad once it evolves into Goodra. I'm not tricking you; it is a pseudo-legendary, after all."

Jiang Yuan nodded in agreement. Once it evolved into Goodra, it was like a carp transforming into a dragon; its strength would be on a completely different level than before.

"The most important thing is that this Goomy has Champion level potential."

"If anyone else said this Goomy had Champion level potential, I wouldn't believe them. But since it's you saying it, I do." Jiang Yuan was well aware that Jiang Chen possessed items that could increase a Pokémon's potential.

"I'll take the little fellow with me." Jiang Yuan took out a Poké Ball and recalled it.

Even though his position as a Champion kept him busy, he still had time to train Pokémon. His main team was already fully developed and didn't require constant oversight.

Now he had the time to raise this Goomy; once it matured, it would become a powerful addition to his roster. In the future, he might even be able to challenge for the title of the strongest Champion.

"I knew you'd accept," Jiang Chen said with a chuckle.

"If you could get me a Dragapult, that would be even better."

Jiang Yuan didn't dislike Goodra, but he much preferred Dragapult. Unfortunately, he had sent people to search for a long time without finding a trace of one. He had no idea where Jiang Chen had managed to find a Dragapult egg. Regarding Jiang Chen's secrets, Jiang Yuan didn't want to pry too much.

"You'll have to find that one yourself," Jiang Chen replied, making no promises.

It wasn't that he couldn't get one, but it would require spending Points in the system mall. He needed to save his Points to buy legendary beasts.

"I've already sent people to look, but there's no sign of a Dragapult anywhere."

Jiang Yuan had even sent agents to other countries. As a newly descended pseudo-legendary, others might not recognize its value and treat it like an ordinary Pokémon. This was the best time to acquire one; once everyone realized Dragapult was a pseudo-legendary, the competition would be too fierce.

Jiang Yuan didn't stay long. Taking Goomy's Poké Ball, he left on his Dragonite.

"Dad took Goomy away. It's too late for any of you to regret it now."

"I won't regret it at all. Goomy simply doesn't suit me," Ling Wanqiu replied.

It was cute, but the slime on its body was too difficult to handle. Your hands would get sticky, and if you tried to hug it, you'd be covered in mucus.

"Goomy doesn't actually secrete slime every second of the day," Jiang Chen noted to Ling Wanqiu.

"Even so, I still don't want a Goomy."

She glanced at Jiang Chen's Dragapult. Ling Wanqiu was actually interested in Dragapult, but finding a newly descended pseudo-legendary like that was too difficult. If even Jiang Chen's father couldn't find one, she certainly wouldn't be able to. In reality, Dragapult hadn't even descended yet, so it was only natural that it couldn't be found.

In the blink of an eye, a week passed. Jiang Chen trained alongside Ling Wanqiu and Xiao Luoxue, and the Pokémon's progress was incredibly rapid. Quite a few of Jiang Chen's Pokémon had broken through to the Elite Four level.

Slaking, Charizard, Sylveon, Lucario, Espeon, and Meowstic had all reached the first stage of the Elite Four level. They had all successfully crossed that threshold. Hydreigon and Alakazam weren't far from crossing it themselves.

It wasn't just Jiang Chen's Pokémon; Ling Wanqiu and Xiao Luoxue's Pokémon had made terrifying progress as well. Ling Wanqiu's Dragonite and Xiao Luoxue's Garchomp had successfully reached the Elite Four level.

They were both dazed; they couldn't understand how training with Jiang Chen made breaking through that threshold seem so easy.

However, what made Jiang Chen happiest wasn't Slaking and the others reaching the Elite Four level; it was Mew breaking through from the Sub-Legendary level to the Legendary level.

*[Mew]*

Gender:* None

Strength:* Legendary level

Potential:* Major Legendary level

Attribute:* Psychic

Ability:* Synchronize

Moves:* Pound, Mirror Type, Ancient Power, Life Dew, Pay Day, Aura Sphere, Psychic...

The strength gap between a Legendary and a Sub-Legendary was no smaller than the gap between a Champion and a legendary beast. Previously, Articuno could still put up a fight against Mew, but now it would just be an instant kill.

With Mew reaching the Legendary level, Jiang Chen also successfully obtained one hundred million Points. Yes, exactly one hundred million. Raising Mew's strength to the Legendary level yielded a reward of one hundred million Points.

One hundred million was enough to buy a Sub-Legendary from the system mall. If he bought one, his mission to possess three legendary beasts would be complete, but Jiang Chen didn't want to buy a Sub-Legendary.

"I want to buy a Major Legendary."

Unfortunately, a Major Legendary cost at least one billion Points. Jiang Chen was still far from that amount; even with his previous savings, he only had one hundred and fifty million Points in total.

"I'll hold onto them for now."

Ultimately, Jiang Chen suppressed the urge to buy a Sub-Legendary and decided to continue accumulating Points. As long as he encountered a wild Sub-Legendary, he could try to capture it. With a Legendary level Mew by his side, he didn't need to worry about being outmatched.

The mission reward was very generous: two Plates, a Red Orb, and thirty million Points. Still, Jiang Chen wasn't in a desperate rush. He would keep saving. While there were strength differences even among Major Legendaries and a one-billion-Point Major Legendary would likely be at the bottom of the tier even the weakest Major Legendary would absolutely crush a Legendary Pokémon.

"Mew, if we run into any legendary beasts in the future, you have to help me catch them," Jiang Chen said, patting Mew's little head, placing his hopes on it.

"Mew-yo!"

It nodded its little head. Jiang Chen was its master; it would do whatever he asked.

"Even if it's just a temporary capture to get the mission reward, that would be good."

While he wasn't desperate, getting the rewards sooner was always better. After all, the reward included two Plates and an item that could trigger Groudon's Primal Reversion.

"I'm heading to the beach. Are you two coming?" Jiang Chen asked Ling Wanqiu and Xiao Luoxue.

"What are you going to the beach for?" Xiao Luoxue asked curiously.

Jiang Chen shook a Luxury Ball. This ball had been sent over by Jiang Yuan using a transport machine. The Pokémon inside was Gyarados Jiang Yuan's main Gyarados. Jiang Chen had taken the initiative to ask his father for it so he could help it break through from the ninth stage of the Elite Four level to the first stage of the Champion level.

This Gyarados's potential was originally at the Elite Four level, but Jiang Chen had the Blue Orb, which could cause its potential to undergo a transformation.

"Gyarados is very combative. I'm taking it to the beach to let it blow off some steam."

Hearing this, Ling Wanqiu and Xiao Luoxue stopped their training. Letting a Gyarados "blow off some steam" meant there was going to be a fight. They were quite looking forward to seeing a ninth stage Elite Four level Pokémon in action.
