The pain shot through my brain like electric sparks, leaving me to grovel within me. My hand shot up on its own, and clutched at my neck, on the spot where Dylan and Declan had marked me.
But I remembered that I was in front of the entire pack, and the centre of attraction, and I quickly withdrew my hand.
But I was not fast enough. Cedric's fixed stare at me with his forehead creased told me that he had seen it all, and already knew what was going on.
While the hall was agog with excitement, I was writhing in pain from within me. But I kept a smiling face, so that whoever stopped for a minute to spare me a look will not behold my pain, but my radiant smile. They would only see a Luna that promises strength, and not weakness.
The pain did not go away soon as I had hoped, neither did it become any less impactful. Instead it increased, and I wasn't so sure if I would be able to hold up, or how long I could endure for.
