Mira's words had a calming effect on me, one that lasted for about the time she spent in my room. Even though it was not so much time, I was entirely grateful.
I got into bed after she left, and forced myself to sleep when the thoughts on Magnus returned.
I couldn't tell how long I slept for, but when I woke up, it was already dark. Mira was by my bed when I woke up, waiting on me with a tray of assorted dishes.
"Mira," I called fondly. Her presence made me instantly light-hearted. "I'm sorry for the way I spoke to you earlier," I apologized while she was setting the tray on the table, and arranging the dish.
"It's alright," she said simply, and then she wiped her hands on her apron, a sign that she was done setting the table.
I began to eat slowly at first but then I realized just how hungry I was, and I just had to increase my speed.
I was done eating in no time, and even though I could have used more food, I refrained from asking.
