I hurried down the hallway, with my heart thumping hard against my chest, following the blasts from outside which sounded more frequent now and wouldn't stop going off.
I had thought of protesting against going back to get a key for the bunker, but I knew it would be unwise. There's no way we would be safe outside the bunker, and there was no way we would get in without the keys, or any other key.
The lights in the hallway flickered weakly, adding to my fear, and despite myself, I hurried, pushing myself forward towards the royal chambers. My head would turn around quickly the moment the lights came on, and I would take a thorough look at everywhere in a single glance, just before the lights would go off.
I let out a heavy sigh when I got to the hallway where the royal bedrooms were located, and I was able to spot Avira's bedroom from the distance.
