The coldness I felt the moment I stepped forward was strange. Like electric currents, it surged through every part of my body in half a second, and left me shivering.
I couldn't tell whether or not the shivering was as a result of my fear, or the cold. But the sensation reminded me of Moonfire pack, during the sorting rite.
The pack's Shammar was reciting some more incantations now, and the air was becoming even thicker. There were a lot of us who were of the mating age, and who had stepped forward.
I felt Alpha Magnus' eyes on me but I didn't turn to look at him. I did not want to see the hate in them, or the look of disdain.
