I mean, how?
I stepped out of my position behind my father, and headed out of the throne room. Could it be that the warriors were only lying to protect him? Or could it be that he was truly dead?
Not that I cared if he lived or died, but to think that there was a killer among us was something new. And strange too.
Usually, I would ask for my father's consent to leave his side, not because I wanted to, but because of the crowd who wouldn't stop staring closely at our direction.
But I didn't care about making an impression on the crowd this time. They can all kiss my ass.
I pushed the door to Avira's guestroom open, and stepped inside. The warriors were right. Thorne had been murdered. The dagger with which he was killed was still plunged in his chest, and the whole room was a bloody mess.
There was a killer in the pack, and worse still, in the royal quarters.
