Chapter 4: The Whisper Beneath

The Whisper Rising from Below

Ravi's sleep broke once again —

But this time, something in the air was different.

There were no drops on the window, no shimmer in the sky.

Still, there was a vibration inside him, as if something beneath the earth was slowly awakening.

He placed his hands on the window and looked —

Far beyond the hills, where the river disappeared into dense trees, something was calling.

As if the water itself was saying —

"Come… listen… know us…"

Ravi quietly stepped out through the back path of the house.

His feet moved on their own, and soon he was past the village boundary, on that old, deserted path where very few ever went.

As soon as he arrived, he felt a cool wave —

As if old breaths beneath the ground had begun to stir again.

As he reached the river, a faint whistle echoed between the stones —

"Whhhhhh…..isper….."

In a very ancient language, one not spoken in words, but in emotions.

Ravi bent down —

Something faint was shining under the water.

As he dipped his hand in, it felt like the entire atmosphere had paused.

A voice came —

"You have chosen to listen. Now you must know that in every river's depth lies a truth —

And every truth comes with a price."

He was afraid, but he didn't stop.

Just then, a figure rose from the water —

Blue-glowing, long flowing hair, eyes filled with peace and mystery.

She was —

"Spirit of the River"

She said,

"You are not just a part of the story,

You are the one from whom the story began."

Ravi couldn't understand.

He was just a boy — or maybe not?

Chapter 4 Teaser:

As Ravi stepped away from the river, the ground beneath his feet shifted slightly.

A crack appeared…

And from it came a low rumble —

"Be ready, child. What comes next is not a question…

It is a test…"
