Lex entered the class in calm strides, heading for his chair at the highest point. The chairs in the class were arranged in order of rank. The rank one sat alone in a row, with ranks 2 and 3 below him, and ranks 4, 5, and 6 following, and so on.
Soon, the teacher arrived and surprised the students. She was the same person who coordinated the ranking match. Don't be surprised, I will be your mana theory teacher as well as your home room teacher till you graduate from the first year.
My bad. My name is Veylan Mora. I am a mana technician hired by the academy to teach the first-year elite class mana theory for a year. The only reason I hosted the ranking match was to verify something.
What, is it the same Veylan Mora, the one who invented the mana flux harmony theory? She is the best mana technician in the world.
Although everyone was shocked by the revelation, Lex was not in the slightest, and the reason was that Veylan was the tutor of the top clan descendants; he would not be surprised if he later found out that it was his father and Vera's father who brought her to the academy.
Enough of the chatter, I will now begin class, she said as a holographic screen lit up in the front.
The school hired me to teach the mana fux harmony theory that I developed 500 years ago at a fundamental level, so it will be easy for you to understand.
We will be starting with the three pillars. What do you understand by mana? she first asked a student.
Mana is the energy that lives in the body and the air. It powers spells, weapons, mechas… basically everything. We absorb it, shape it, and use it depending on the system or tech. It's like fuel, but smarter.
That is correct, but mana is more than just that.
Mana is the underlying resonance of existence, a fluid potential that reacts to will, intention, and design. It is not just energy. It is the response. It remembers touch, holds shape, resists abuse, and rewards understanding."
To call it fuel is to call a symphony a noise. Mana is a conversation between the world and the one bold enough to speak.
Now, do you know of the three pillars of mana harmony flux, which include flow, focus and feedback.
Today, we will be doing flow.
Flow is the natural rhythm and movement of mana within and around our body. To shape mana, you must first let it move, and to do that, you have to learn how it behaves and how to direct it without applying force.
Imagine mana as a river; if it flows without interruption, it follows a natural course. But when it is forced to pass through a narrow or tight space, it becomes too unstable and might erupt at any time.
For today, you will try guiding your mana into these crystal orbs, as she said this, an orb appeared on the table of all the students.
She picked up the orb on her table and began guiding mana into it. After some seconds, it began to glow, with not a wisp of mana escaping, fully stable.
You all should try too, she said as she set a 2-hour timer.
Lex and Vera both looked at the orb and laughed, they had already done this exercise years before. Lex threw his orb up majestically, and when it landed, it landed without even cracking while it glowed, showing that he did it successfully.
The same was for Vera as she easily filled the orb with mana. But the other students were not having it as easily as the two of them.
Professor Veylan, why won't it go in smoothly? It is like pushing a boulder uphill.
That is because you are pushing, try guiding, feel the current, and let it slip in, don't force it.
I did it, a student shouted from the third row.
Then why is it about to explode? Veylan asked as she flicked it with her fingers, causing it to explode. As soon as it exploded, a replacement was given while Veylan went around correcting the students.
After the 2-hour timer hit zero, all the orbs mysteriously hit zero. Continue practising at home, you can get an orb at the school mall later.
Yeah, I almost forgot, she said as she snapped her fingers. Instantly, several sci-fi-like bands appeared on every table. These are your student bracelets, they will be used as a means of identification in the academy. They contain your points, act as keys to your dormitory and allow use of the various facilities in the academy.
You all are free to leave for your other class now, Veylan said as she disappeared from their view.
