Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: Meeting the Gungans (2)

(Jayden's PoV)

Well, just as I assumed, we went to meet the Gungans.

I don't remember whose idea it was in the canon, but in this AU, it became mine. Yeah, I stole the credit for this.

While arriving on Naboo, we discussed how to retake the capital city, as the space was blocked and Theed was occupied by thousands of droids.

Naboo didn't have a significant army presence, at least officially.

The Queen of Naboo, who was just for humans, whom the Republic recognised, but the Gungans were not part of the Republic, at least they acted as if they were not part of it.

There was no Gungan representation before Jar-Jar became one, but that would happen after this crisis.

For now, at least, as I see it, not all parts of Naboo are Republic; some parts are neutral, which are under the Gungan control or territories of powerful monsters that lurk deep in the sea.

Since Gungans didn't come under the Republic, they didn't follow the Ruusan Reformations to reduce the standing army.

The Queen has a royal guard and a few members present in the army, but calling it an army is a joke. They won't be able to stop anything.

So, the obvious choice was the Gungans, who were outside of the Republic's Control and had a standing army. Though they were aquatic in nature and not strong enough to fight the droids, they are all we have now.

I mean, they did lose fighting the droids and were captured by the droid army. It was only after Anakin's lucky destruction of the central hub that the droids were shut down and became worthless, letting the captured Gungans free and the few Naboo Soldiers to take back the throne of Naboo.

Even so, with no other options, I pointed out the obvious choice.

This way, I not only earned enough points in the minds of Master Jinn and Kenobi, but also in the mind of Padme, who is my target in the first place. If I want to make her mine, then I need to earn more and more brownie points.

I have less rizz than the young Anakin.

I may appear almost the same age as him, a couple of years older, but the issue was that I have memories of a past life. I should have been better than him, but I lacked in my past life, and I can sense that I possess no such rizz in this life either.

So, I have to take such underhanded tricks.

This is not much when one compares it to what I plan to do in the future.

If I want to defeat the Sith and save the Republic and Jedi Order, then I have to use my knowledge of Star Wars and commit many underhanded tricks and make some decisions that wouldn't be entirely moral.

Yes, I don't have decades of time to make the Sith's plan fail, which had been in process for hundreds of years. They have slowly corrupted the Senate and even the order. It took hundreds of years to achieve that and to undo it, or even to face such a plan; a decade is not enough.

I knew from the start that I had to play a lot of underhanded tricks, as the Sith have been playing them for centuries. If I think too much about how dishonourable it would be, millions would die. No billions die when Jedha, Scarif and Alderaan turned into dust.

As long as innocents were not burned directly by my schemes, I wouldn't have any issue.

---

Anyway, the Naboo delegation accepted my idea and went to meet with the leader and members of the Gungans.

There were fights between the Gungans and the Humans, a long-standing rivalry, in which they fought for the sovereignty of Naboo. So, the meeting didn't start on the right foot, but when the true queen stepped forward and begged for help, changes occurred.

Just because the Queen herself came to ask for help, it didn't change everything, but it gave a start for negotiations to form an alliance.

After a long negotiation, the Gungans agreed to help in exchange for proper recognition of their people from Naboo and the Republic. Also, the fact that the Trade Federation would come for them once the Humans were dealt with.

Though the Gungans kept to themselves most of the time, they knew that isolation was not a way to survive in a galaxy like this.

What they didn't know was that the Republic was on a countdown.

It stood for almost 25,000 years but fell. Although the Republic area fluctuated in size over the years, it always survived on at least a few worlds, but the Clone Wars ended its reign.

Well, as anything that lies has to die, anything that was created has to be destroyed. Nothing is eternal.

Even if they knew, this was the best way, as the Sith might have taken advantage if Naboo were still divided during the war.

Also, we got an army, at least in appearance, to not fight the Trade Federation's army, but to stall them until their central hub was destroyed.

Well, I gave them that idea as well as maintaining so many droids must not be easy and could be controlled using a central hub and as long as it was identified and destroyed, Naboo would be free.

The other Jedi like the idea as well, because the quicker the war would have ended, the fewer deaths there would be.

Based on my ideas, a formal battle plan was devised and we soon went to war.
