Chapter 22 - I am rich, deal with it

(MC POV)

After her announcement, a man in what looked like a male doudou pushed a cart onto the stage; on top of it was a pillow, and on top of that pillow was a red pill that had white highlights.

"This is our first item of the auction, and it is a devil may cry pill. it will grant the person that consumes it increased mobility, durability, regeneration, reactivity, and a slight boost in battle IQ for two minutes. This pill was created by the famous pill master Vergil in remembrance of his brother. The only side effect is that the person who consumes this pill would grow a pair of white rabbit ears for a day," The lady said, looking at the pill.

Maybe to her, growing rabbit ears sounded nice.

"Starting bid is 1,000 gold coins! with an increment of 100 gold coins and above"

"2000 gold coins!"

"2500!"

"2900"

...

"Sold for 4000 gold coins!" She said with an enchanting smile as the cart was wheeled off stage.

And another cart was brought in, with another pill.

But I was not really interested as I looked at the booklet that showed the pills that would be put on auction, and after that were the crafting materials, followed by the runic weapons, followed by the alchemy herbs, and then the elemental technique books. The last section was the mystery section, where even the auction house does not know what the item they are selling does or is used for.

I was only here for the material, herbs, and mystery section; maybe if something catches my eye, I will bid for it.

Aside from the close to twenty million gold coins I got from both the bandits and dark sect members, I also got about six hundred thousand elemental stones.

My wealth was also a lot, since I had about seven hundred million gold coins in my account and about fifty million elemental stones; That is not counting my other assets.

Yes, I am very wealthy since, over the years, I had been selling some equipment that I had made, and with the knowledge of two lives, I, of course, knew some mining locations, but I have not explored all of them since some were in other regions and kingdoms. And it was only last year that I started investing in those mines, but the profit turnout was already huge from them, since I have about eighteen gold mines and seven elemental mines to my name, but that is, of course, through a different name.

I don't want my cover to be blown, and even though owning these mines was considered illegal since kingdoms control any gold mine found, as a practitioner and an elder of a sect, that rule never applied to me.

I want to live an easy life, and that means having money at my disposal, being lowkey wealthy is very fulfilling.

"This is a longevity pill that was created by the elves. It can increase the life span of others by five years, and there are currently twenty of them circulating in the market, and our auction house got eight of them, which would be sold separately since we believe in equality, though if you wish to buy more, then you can still bid for it." A cart was wheeled in carrying eight dark green pills all neatly arranged inside a clear glass casing, since the medicinal properties might get affected by the air and lose some of their efficiency.

"Starting price for one is three hundred gold coins with an increment of fifty gold coins for each." Suddenly she paused and smiled. "Or you can bid for all of them at five thousand with an increment of five hundred gold coins; of course, elemental stones are accepted at elemental stones for one hundred and an increment of ten stones."

Talk about equality.

The conversion of gold coins for elemental stones was fifty gold coins for one, so the price is fair.

Oh, elemental stones are created when an area has an abundance of elemental energy, but it's usually the most common, like fire, earth, air, and water. For uncommon ones like lightning, ice, sand, lava, etc. They are bought at two hundred gold coins for one stone, and of course the special elements like space, light, darkness, and so on and so forth, since those elements don't exist in the mortal realm, they don't have a price, but in the heavenly realm that only uses elemental stones as currency, its pricing if converted to gold coins would be fifty thousand gold coins for one space or light stone.

"6000 gold coins!"

"7000 gold coins!"

"7500"

"20,000 gold coins from room 7!"

The whole place went quiet when I made my bid as I saw how everyone turned to face my room.

Well, the convenient thing about a VIP room was that not only could they not see you, but all you had to do was press a button and tell your price to a call girl...

Not that kind of call girl.

She would then shout out your bid for you without you having to do it like those on the ground floor.

"20,500 gold coins!"

Another bid was placed; looking at where it came from, expecting it to come from a VIP room, I could not help raising an eyebrow as I did not expect it to be a kid no older than seventeen who was on the ground floor.

He did look familiar, though, which was surprising since he looked average, and for me to recognize him with such an average face was surprising; the only thing that caught my attention about him was his eyes.

Even though the pill was for the sorceress, and I could easily concoct another one, I was not actually hopeful that I would find the complete herbs here, and I also have to think about the herbs for increasing Cuyan's affinity.

Speaking of Chuyan, she was actually massaging my shoulders and head when she came to the room this morning and saw me asleep with my clothes on; she kept saying she would diligently take care of me properly from now on.

Now that I think about it, how did she get in?

There were also the dryads back at Guming village.

"25,000," I said to the call girl.

Which she later yelled out, silencing the crowd again.

To be honest, bidding wars were not my thing; if you had the kind of money I had, then you would also do the same.

After the lady on the stage called out three times, nobody placed a bid again, and I won the pills. I was expecting people from the VIP rooms to bid, but hey, I'm not complaining if they don't.

"Tell them to give one pill to that boy," I said to the call girl.

When everyone heard what she later said, there was some murmuring, but I did not care, for him to have challenged someone from the VIP room, it seems the person he is trying to save is important; might as well help him a bit and buy five more years for his loved one.

After the whole ordeal was over, the auction continued with them bringing in more pills, but I was not really satisfied with them, so I did not bid for any of them.

"Now, we have reached the crafting material section--"

"Tell her fifty million gold coins for the entire crafting materials section," I said to the call girl after I had scanned the crafting materials section and saw that everything there was something I could use, but for some reason there was no sound.

"Hello?"

"Ah, right, sorry sir let me consort with the hostess." The girl said and quickly flew to the stage; oh, she was actually a practitioner.

She climbed almost at the same time as the man in the doudou brought the first item and whispered in the hostess's ear, pointing at my room.

"Uh, it seems we would have to move on to the runic section of the auction," She announed with a strained smile.

"Why?" A voice asked what would have been on everyone's mind after hearing her sudden announcement.

"Um, VIP room 7 has bought the entire section for fifty million gold coins," She said looking in the direction of my room.

Well, I did say I was not interested in bidding wars, and besides.

I'm rich, f**ing deal with it.
