The Challenges of Motherhood
***Arin's POV***
"NO!" Clutching Love's glowing form to my chest, I screamed. "I will not allow any of you to give up your lives!"
As the Void Eaters approached, the cave trembled once more. I didn't care, though. I had had enough of being powerless while others made decisions for my family.
"Mama," Love said softly as her starlight warmed my skin. "The prophecy states—"
"What the prophecy says doesn't matter to me!" I cut in, feeling a surge of protective rage in my Unity power. "No one is sacrificing anything, in my opinion as your mother!"
Everyone was shocked by what Faith did at that point.
She broke down in tears.
Spirit crying, not baby crying. Like reverse rain, her tears were silver light that drifted upward and toward the cave ceiling.
"What's wrong, Faith?" With a broken heart, I asked.
