Zane only needed a few long strides to catch up with Serein. He walked beside her, eyes flicking down to the short, inky-black hair that barely reached her nape — though she still insisted on tying it into a tiny tuft, as if refusing to admit defeat.
"Training, huh? Why didn't you tell me?"
Serein turned her head the other way, hiding the click of her tongue. "Do I need to report every move I make to the guild master now?"
Her cool tone made him chuckle. "That's not what I meant. I could've helped you if I'd known."
"Please don't treat me any differently." She muttered, discomfort tightening her voice. She hated the idea of being seen as someone perched above the rest.
"I'm not." Zane replied, calm as ever. "Just treating you like any new recruit in Eclipse. Not because you're an S-Rank Guide or anything like that."
Serein turned her head the other way, hiding the click of her tongue. "Do I need to report every move I make to the guild master now?"
