Synopsis
Every night at exactly 12:00, an abandoned train platform comes alive. Yuto Hoshino is a quiet boy carrying a grief he never speaks about. Drawn by something he can’t explain, he begins returning to Platform Zero — a place forgotten by time — where a silent train arrives only at midnight. On one such night, he meets Hana, a gentle, mysterious girl who seems half-real, half-memory. She rides the midnight train with no destination and no past she can remember. As the nights pass, the two begin to share conversations, silences, and small moments that feel warmer than the cold world around them. But Hana is fading. As dawn approaches each night, her presence weakens, and Yuto learns that she exists between worlds — unable to stay, yet unable to leave. When a shadowed conductor warns that Hana’s time is running out, Yuto is forced to confront an impossible choice: let her disappear quietly… or fight against the rules of life and death. Volume 1 is a story of first meetings, unspoken feelings, and a love that begins where the world goes silent — at midnight.

Chapter 1 - Silence At Midnight

─── ✦ Memory So Soft It Hurt ✦ ───

Some nights, Yuta dreamed of someone he couldn't name.

A laugh like chimes.

A hand that almost touched his.

Silver hair caught in moonlight

like frost that remembered warmth.

He woke with the ghost of a smile,

and the ache of something unfinished.

In his mind, there was a girl —

sad and beautiful and fading —

but when he tried to see her face,

it blurred like breath on glass.

He didn't know why he kept returning

to the midnight platform.

Only that something important

waited just beyond forgetting.

A feeling.

A shadow.

A heartbeat that once matched his.

A love his mind had lost,

but his soul never could.

─── ✦ The Train at 00:00 ✦ ───

Midnight at Platform Zero always felt like holding your breath.

The air was cold enough to sting,

the sky too dark to believe in morning.

Yuta stood beneath the flickering station lamps

with hands shoved deep in his coat pockets,

as if he could hide all the memories that kept bleeding through.

11:59.

The clock waited with him — patient, cruel.

When it struck 12:00,

rails that had slept for years

shivered like something waking from a dream.

And then he saw it.

A train with no sound. No smoke. No warning.

Just light cutting through the darkness

like someone opening heaven with a key

─── ✦ A Girl Made Of Fog ✦ ───

She stepped out like mist given shape.

Silver hair drifting like moonlit water,

pink eyes soft as blurred memory.

She looked around as if she were new to existing.

Yuta forgot how to breathe for a moment.

Her voice — delicate, uncertain — felt like frost melting.

"Are you waiting for someone?" she asked.

He thought about all the answers that hurt,

and chose the one that didn't.

"I don't know anymore," he whispered.

─── ✦ When Hands Remember ✦ ───

Hana sat beside him, not touching,

but close enough for warmth to almost exist.

When their hands drifted near,

the air between their fingers hummed —

like two memories searching for each other.

"Do you remember dying?" Yuta asked softly.

Hana smiled — a sad curve, fragile, beautiful.

"No. I only remember wanting more time."

─── ✦ Fading Before Sunrise ✦ ───

Her outline flickered like rain on glass.

"Yuta," she whispered, voice trembling,

"I think I'm disappearing."

He grabbed her hand — or tried to.

His fingers passed through light,

and desperation filled the spaces memory could not.

The train shook.

Dawn seeped through windows like truth.

─── ✦ Stay, Even If You Forget ✦ ───

"I'll stay," he said.

"Even if it hurts. Even if you forget everything."

Her eyes filled with light

that could have been tears or stars.

"No one ever said that to me," Hana breathed.

"Then I'll be the first," Yuta answered.
