"You should have thought about that before you betrayed your pack," Caleb said, his voice hard as steel.
Caden took a deep breath, then turned away, pacing. "We need to tell the council. This isn't just a leak in the ranks anymore—it's prophecy-level shit."
"No," Caleb said, still staring at the maid. "Not yet."
"What?" Caden blinked. "Why not?"
"Because the second we say prophecy or Moonborn or first seal, people are going to panic. We need proof. We need to know exactly what this Veil wants. And why this baby is so important, and how sure are we that whoever is behind all of this doesn't have the elders of the pack wrapped around his hands," Caleb said, towering over the wounded maid.
"You're going to help us find out," he said coldly. "Every time you remember something, we'll be here. And if we find out you're still hiding anything…" He didn't finish the sentence. He didn't need to.
Caden holstered his gun with a final click and turned on his heel. "Let's go."
