Seeing the Navy rummaging through Bellemere's orange orchard, Nojiko stepped out and stopped them.
"There are so many people on this island waiting for you to save them, yet you're actually here making things difficult for a thief. This is far too ridiculous!"
Nezumi was unmoved, "What nonsense are you spouting? This has nothing to do with you, get out of my sight and cool off somewhere else!"
Nojiko argued back with all her strength.
"It's exactly because unreliable Navy like you exist that little Na has sacrificed so much for the people of the village!"
"Since you don't want to save this village, then hurry up and disappear from here. If you keep dawdling like this, be careful that Arlong doesn't find you!"
Up to now, the villagers of Cocoyasi had never thought that the Navy would collude with pirates.
"Is that so?" Nezumi sneered fearlessly. "This woman is too talkative; she must be an accomplice of the thief. Obstructing official duties, execute her on the spot."
"Yes!"
Nezumi's subordinate saluted, then pulled out a pistol and aimed at Nojiko.
"What are you trying to do!" Nami, seeing this, was somewhat in disbelief.
The Navy gave them no time to react. The moment the pistol was drawn, the bullet was already flying out.
Bang!!
Gunshot, blood flowed.
Nojiko clutched her own abdomen. In an instant her complexion turned deathly pale, fresh blood gushing through the gaps between her fingers.
"Sister!"
Nami cried out in alarm. She didn't know where the strength came from, but she broke free from the Navy's hands in one motion and ran at full speed toward Nojiko.
Nojiko fell to the ground, curling up, pained groans coming from her mouth.
Colonel Nezumi frowned and reprimanded his subordinate, "Your marksmanship really makes me sick. In this situation you should have executed immediately to silence the witness. If word gets out, it will damage the Navy's prestige."
"Y-yes… yes, Colonel."
Finishing, the subordinate raised his gun again, deciding to perform well this time.
Nami was shocked and furious.
The Navy did not confront the evil pirates, yet they would actually shoot innocent civilians, this was far too excessive.
After Nojiko went out, Jotaro had been sitting quietly on a chair at the side, waiting.
Healing so many refugees with Ripple and his Stand was still somewhat of a burden for him at present.
Considering the actions to come, he planned to recover some mental strength and stamina first.
Who knew that before long, the piercing gunshot from outside the house would alert him.
Creak~
The door was slowly pushed open.
In an instant, the Navy felt the atmosphere gradually becoming strange.
"Strange, why does it feel a bit cold?"
The clueless Navy shrank their necks.
From behind the door first stepped out Jotaro's well-built calf, the pitch-black leather shoes gleaming brightly under the sunlight.
The glaring sunlight made Nezumi squint slightly.
The sunlight shone on his body, but instead of feeling warmth, he felt as though he were in an ice cellar.
Those shoes were far too familiar.
'No way…'
He swallowed a mouthful of saliva, his gaze slowly moving upward.
Jotaro also walked out from behind the door at this moment, revealing that face which would make him feel creeped out the moment he saw it.
Nezumi was so frightened he was sweating all over, inside and out.
'Why is he here!!!!'
Jotaro noticed the injured Nojiko.
The wound on her abdomen was so striking.
His face instantly became dark, the icy light in his eyes sweeping over the surrounding Navy.
"I think you people didn't come to this island to deal with pirates, right?"
Before Nezumi could speak, that same subordinate who wanted to perform well earlier immediately turned his gun.
"There's actually another person? Rest assured, Colonel, this time I will definitely take care of silencing him beautifully."
The other Navy, hearing his words, all widened their eyes and looked at him in disbelief.
'Hmph! I've seized the opportunity!'
The corner of his mouth hooked up, revealing a ferocious smile.
He had only recently become one of Nezumi's men and had been wanting to build merit, but there had been no chance.
This time, being able to perform ahead of his companions was just too delightful.
He even admired his own cleverness a little.
'Are all rookies this bold?'
Those who had witnessed Jotaro's strength couldn't help sighing in their hearts.
"Go to hell!"
This time he did not miss. The muzzle was fixed right on Jotaro's forehead, and without hesitation he pulled the trigger.
Bang!
"Retreat!"
At that moment, Nezumi shouted and dashed out like his life depended on it.
Catching a slow-as-a-turtle bullet like this was easier than drinking water for Jotaro.
"How could this be?"
It was different from what he'd expected, the bullet did not pierce through Jotaro's brain, but inexplicably stopped in front of him.
The Navy soldier who fired was already drenched in sweat.
He looked to his companions for help, only to find there were no figures beside him, everyone else, as if encountering ghosts, had already run dozens of meters away.
A streak of metallic light flashed past his eyes.
Then came a painful scream.
Nezumi clutched his thigh, falling to the ground in agony.
"Colonel!"
The fleeing Navy halted their steps one after another.
If they abandoned their commander, even if they escaped, they would be punished afterwards.
Jotaro walked over unhurriedly, hands in his pockets.
He looked down at Nezumi, his expression cold, without a trace of emotion.
"Tell me, why are you here?"
From Nojiko he had learned everything that happened on the island.
He naturally knew that whenever the Navy approached this island, their ships would be destroyed by the fish-men.
Yet this group could land here unscathed, that was indeed somewhat strange.
If his guess was correct, there must be some unknown deal between Nezumi and the fish-men.
"I mean no offense to you, I'm here to catch a thief."
"Ora!"
Star Platinum's fist smashed into Nezumi's ankle, the ankle bone instantly shattering into powder.
Clearly Jotaro was not satisfied with this answer.
"Aaahhh!!"
Nezumi shuddered from the pain, crying out loudly.
This foot of his was as good as crippled.
"I'll give you one more chance," Jotaro asked coldly.
"I'll talk, I'll talk, please spare my life."
With someone like Jotaro, he didn't dare play any tricks, if he misspoke, he could very well be finished for good today.
"It… it was Arlong who sent me…"
Under Jotaro's coercion, he dared not conceal anything and revealed absolutely everything.
"So that's how it is."
Jotaro's expression was calm and unshaken, not at all surprised by what he heard.
Nami, however, was somewhat lost and dejected, her delicate body trembling, finding it hard to accept all this.
More than the collusion of the Navy and pirates, what made her angrier was Arlong breaking the agreement.
Jotaro glanced at her, then at Nezumi, and said indifferently, "You can get up now."
Nezumi was overjoyed in his heart, and barked at his dazed subordinates, "What are you still waiting for? Hurry up and help me up."
He couldn't wait to disappear from here immediately, not wanting to stay another second.
"Wait a moment," Jotaro called to him, "I never said that revealing everything meant I'd let you go."
"Letting you get up is just so it's more convenient for me to hit you. I don't want to bend over to hit trash like you!"
"What!" Nezumi's face showed shock.
The next moment, a heavy fist landed on his face.
"Ora ora ora ora ora ora!"
