Chapter 35 - DULK: Chapter 35

"If you feel excitement, don't miss it,"

After Arthas and Hestia left, Syr stood alone at the counter, holding a plate, muttering these words to herself, lost in thought.

"That's right. He's perceptive. If you like someone, pursue them boldly. Hesitation is pointless."

As Syr pondered, the robust owner appeared beside her, patting her shoulder.

"It doesn't concern me. I'm just a waitress. Seeing Arthas-sama is enough."

"Is that enough?"

"Yes… it is."

Syr nodded, forcing a weak smile, then entered the kitchen.

"I'm going to work, Boss."

In the tavern, a waitress paused while wiping a table. The elf girl looked at Syr's back, clenching her cleaning rag, lost in thought.

Leaving the tavern, it was almost eleven o'clock.

Arthas and Hestia strolled down the nearly deserted street. The rain had stopped; the moon shone brightly through the clouds.

This night stroll is romantic… holding hands would be even better.

Hestia thought, looking at Arthas, considering holding his hand.

Is this too forward? Should I be more reserved as a Goddess?

Hestia thought, then looked at Arthas again.

His usually reassuring face was different; he seemed preoccupied.

"St… still thinking about Riveria Ljos Alf?"

Hestia's happiness and excitement turned to bitterness.

"Ah, sorry, Hestia. I was distant."

"Wh… what do you mean 'distant'? Your wording is strange!"

Hestia's face flushed slightly; the word "distant" made her think.

She quickly realized it was a familial term.

"You… really like her that much? What's so great about Riveria Ljos Alf?"

Hestia grumbled, unhappy that the elf had taken what should have been hers.

"I don't know. Maybe love is illogical?"

Arthas chuckled. Love at first sight seemed absurd, but he couldn't explain his feelings for Riveria Ljos Alf.

"Perhaps I was drawn to her aura, her all-encompassing, motherly gentleness."

Arthas said seriously, and Hestia looked strange.

"Arthas… you wouldn't be… alone for a long time?"

"alone? Why's that?"

Arthas looked at Hestia curiously, and she quickly covered it up.

"Ah, nothing. I was joking. We're home."

They reached the old church. Hestia exclaimed happily and ran inside.

Arthas looked at her back, sensing something was off. But he couldn't pinpoint it.

Perhaps my actions made Hestia think I'd leave her? How could I leave you, Hestia? You guided me in this world.

Thinking this, Arthas smiled gently and entered the church.

"Aaaaah… alone searching for love …!"

"Calm down, Hestia. You have a chance. Motherly affection isn't limited to women like Riveria Ljos Alf."

Entering the church, out of Arthas's sight, Hestia darted into the basement and onto the bed.

She began to mutter.

"Speaking of motherly affection! That little elf can't compare to me!"

"With these winning weapons a Goddess!"

Hestia said confidently. Riveria Ljos Alf was well-endowed. But compared to Hestia, she was still lacking.

As Hestia muttered, Arthas entered the basement, wondering why she'd run off.

"What's wrong, Hestia? Why are you hiding in bed?"

Arthas asked, amused.

"N… nothing. It's late; let's sleep!"

With a strange smile, Hestia sat up, patting the bed.

Wh… what's going on?

Something's off… Arthas thought, approaching her. He was grabbed by Hestia and pulled onto the bed.

"Come, come, let's sleep. You can act spoiled."

"I… I can't breathe, Hestia! What's wrong with you?"

Arthas, enjoying the unexpected attention.
