Chapter 38 - DULK: Chapter 38

"I'm so hurt, Hephaestus! Do you think I only come to you for money? Do I look like that kind of Goddess?! I've asked you for help many times, but thanks to you, I'm doing alright! I'm not leeching off my best friend anymore!"

"You were just eating the free food, and you were going to take some home."

"W… no, it's because there's always leftovers… it's better to use them effectively… that's all…"

"Oh—oh—, your stinginess is admirable. I'm moved to tears."

"Grrr…"

Seeing Hephaestus's scorn, Hestia groaned in frustration.

A 'knock knock' sound was heard.

The sound of shoes on the floor approached Hephaestus.

"Heh heh… you two are still so close."

"Eh… Fr… Freya?"

The Goddess who appeared was exceptionally beautiful, even among the handsome Gods.

Her skin was as delicate as fresh snow. Her slender limbs were graceful. Her small, soft and slender waist were captivating. Her gold-threaded dress was low-cut, revealing her beautifully shaped body—perhaps it was too warm; the skin was a rosy pink.

Her figure was flawless, as if the concept of the golden ratio was derived from her.

Her long lashes were delicate; her phoenix eyes were ethereal and commanding.

Her unparalleled beauty could be described as transcendent.

Freya, the Goddess of Beauty, with flowing silver hair, approached Hestia.

"Wh… what are you doing here…"

"Ah, we met over there. We chatted and decided to walk around together."

"Th… that's too casual, Hephaestus…"

"Am I bothering you, Hestia?"

The beautiful Goddess asked with a smile.

Hestia pouted.

"I'm scared of you."

"Heh heh, I like your personality."

Stop it, Hestia waved her hand.

Freya, the most beautiful among the Gods, was one of the Goddesses of Beauty.

These Gods possessed the power to captivate even the fickle Gods—beauty. Mortals would become slaves to love at first sight.

However, the Goddesses of Beauty were all formidable.

This was something other Gods couldn't match.

Though the degree varied, Hestia really didn't want to get involved with them.

"Hey—! Hephaestus—! Freya—! Shorty—!"

"…But I have someone I dislike even more than you."

"Oh dear, how scary."

Hestia looked away from Freya's elegant smile and saw a Goddess waving towards them.

Crimson hair and crimson eyes. Usually wearing her hair simply tied back, today it was styled for the banquet. Her slim-fitting dress suited her perfectly.

Though arriving later than Freya, she possessed an equally beautiful appearance.

"Ah, Loki. You came too."

"What? You seem to have something to say. That's rare."

"I do, but it's not convenient here."

Hestia looked at the passing Gods, worried.

"Oh… is it about that kid?"

Loki narrowed her eyes, leaning closer to Hestia.

"Just you know. Don't tell anyone."

Hestia said cautiously, glancing at Freya, who was smiling elegantly with a wine glass.

Hestia didn't want Freya to know too much about Arthas; it made her feel uneasy.

"Oh, if I remember correctly, Hestia finally has her own Familia. Is it about that boy? I was surprised when you told me you'd formed a Familia…"

"Yes… it's about him."

Hestia nodded helplessly when Hephaestus spoke directly.

Freya moved.

She placed her glass on the table with a clang and swept her hair back.

"I should be going."

"So soon? Freya, didn't you have something to ask?"

"No longer necessary. I've heard what I needed…"

"…You haven't asked anyone anything since you arrived."

Hephaestus, who had been with her, couldn't hide her surprise.

Freya didn't answer; she looked at Hestia and smiled differently.

Hestia's eyes widened.

"Besides, I'm tired of the men here."

The hall fell silent. Freya seemed unconcerned.

Saying this, she disappeared into the crowd.

The three Goddesses looked at each other with puzzled expressions.

"Freya is a Goddess of Beauty… so shameless!"

"Well, even if Freya doesn't control love and desire, someone has to…"

"Even so, she has a Familia! She's so irresponsible! Doing that with a potential enemy… the children will scorn her!"

"But I think Freya could recruit members just by smiling…"

Hephaestus sighed, scratching her eyepatch.

This was her habit; when unhappy, she did this. Hestia snorted.

"Alright, that annoying woman's gone. Tell us about that boy."

Loki urged curiously after Freya left.

"Yes, about your Familia member, Hestia. What do you want to tell us?"

Hephaestus asked curiously.
