Chapter 23 - Maybe i understimated myself!

[Third POV, Year 2001, Broken Loop, 20th of April]

Honk! Honk! Honk!

Suddenly, the sound of a car horn startled our protagonist, who was currently comparing the internal design of all the processors—analyzing how exactly each one functioned. Unfortunately, he didn't have the other components necessary to build his own PC, but just seeing the internal circuitry and understanding how they worked was already a huge step forward.

Thanks to all the loops he went through while developing the LRAD and the sonic taser, our protagonist had accumulated enough knowledge of engineering, electronics, and mechanical systems to digest this new information fairly easily. He wasn't on Tony Stark's level obviously but he considered himself to have a pretty decent understanding now. Of course, he wouldn't be able to help Tony just yet, but he knew that once he observed the processors Stark actually used definitely not the ones sold on the market he could learn how they functioned. That's when the real work would begin.

Exiting his studio, he quickly walked to his room to change into more presentable clothes, then washed his face and sprinted to the living room, where he found Happy Hogan talking with his parents. Upon seeing Adrian, Tony's friend raised his voice.

"There you are. For a moment, I thought maybe you were still asleep. Did you have breakfast yet? If not, we can get something on the way—Stark doesn't like to wait too long."

"Yeah, I'm ready. I haven't eaten yet, though."

Suddenly, Adrian's mother extended a hand toward him, holding a lunch box.

"Knowing you, I already prepared something for you to take. It was originally for you to have for lunch—or if you got hungry while at Stark's place."

Pleasantly surprised, Adrian took the lunchbox and walked over to Happy.

"Thanks, Mom. We can go now, Mr. Happy."

Hearing that made Happy raise an eyebrow.

"How'd you know that nickname, kid? We haven't met before."

"Ah, that's a nickname? I thought it was your actual name. Mr. Stark said on the phone that 'Happy will come to get me,' so I assumed it was your name."

Hearing that explanation made Happy sigh. Tony really was spreading that nickname everywhere.

"Alright then. Time to go, kid."

"Goodbye, Dad. Goodbye, Mom."

And with that, the duo walked out of the house and got into the car—or rather, Stark's car that Happy used to drive his boss around.

As they left the neighborhood, Happy drove in the direction of Stark's mansion. Thankfully, Adrian's decision to move to Malibu instead of New York—where most of the major events tended to happen—was paying off. Meanwhile, as Happy drove, Adrian began eating the meal his mother had packed.

[30 Minutes Later]

The view surrounding him was a refreshing change of pace for Adrian. Seeing the scenic beauty and luxury of the mansion from the movies was one thing, but experiencing it firsthand felt totally different.

The car slowly entered the underground garage beneath the mansion. After parking, Happy turned toward Adrian.

"Alright, time to get out, kid."

Doing as instructed, Adrian opened the door and stepped out. Suddenly, the garage lights activated—floor LEDs lighting the way—making the entire space clearly visible. About ten meters away, a man could be seen descending the stairs. That man was none other than Tony Stark.

"Good, now that you're here, we can get to work. I was getting a little bored without anything to do."

Having already finished his work on the missiles, Stark had simply been waiting for Adrian to arrive. Now they could finally begin.

"Hi, Mr. Stark. Where are we going to work?"

"I'll take you to my lab right now. Follow me, kid."

As Stark turned and began walking, Adrian quickly followed. Soon, they arrived at Tony's workshop. It resembled the one from the Iron Man movies, albeit with some obvious differences. There was no collection of suits, some layout details were changed, and a few pieces of equipment were missing.

"Now, since you're my assistant, you'll have to get familiar with JARVIS. That stands for Just A Rather Very Intelligent System."

"Hello, Adrian. I am JARVIS, the AI butler developed by Mr. Anthony Stark."

A projection suddenly appeared in front of Adrian, and a voice echoed through the speakers. Seeing it in person, rather than in a film, sparked his curiosity. The technical marvel that was JARVIS fascinated him.

"You named it after your butler? Must've been someone really important to you."

"You knew I had a butler named JARVIS? Well, technically, he was the family butler. But to me, hewas family."

As the two spoke, Tony moved his hands through the holographic interface, shifting projections. A long string of text appeared on one, and an image showed up on another.

"Since I know you probably don't have much advanced knowledge on this, I've compiled some essential notes. These are from my personal discoveries about processor technology—not even the commercial Stark Industries products use this stuff, so I know you wouldn't be familiar. If you need anything specific, just ask JARVIS."

With that, Stark walked over to a chair and sat down. On the table in front of him lay a circuit board, which he immediately began tinkering with.

Nodding, Adrian turned to the projection and began reading through the notes, absorbing the information quickly.

'Maybe I underestimated myself? I think I can actually understand everything here without much trouble! That means I can avoid wasting timeline resets just trying to process things. Maybe it's because I already have a solid foundation of knowledge—and my thinking speed lets me absorb everything faster because of it!'
