Chapter 22 - Hypothetically, how much time would it take?

[Third POV, Year 2001, Broken Loop, 20th of April]

Ring! Ring! Ring!

Currently, we find ourselves with Tony Stark, eating a cheeseburger while looking at some holographic projections in his lab. Hearing the sound of his phone — specifically, the see-through one which has the number he only gives to trusted people — he picked it up with his free hand. Seeing that the number was one he didn't recognize, Tony raised an eyebrow and answered the call.

"Hello? Is it you, kid?"

"Yeah, it's me, Mr. Stark. I've already convinced my parents, like we talked about."

Currently, on the other end, we find our protagonist. While talking through the phone, he was also typing on his laptop, keeping his progress on the Anti-Terror plan steady.

"Alright then, I'll do my part. Can I guess you'll be free tomorrow, right? It's time for your first day on the job — I've got something I want to work on."

"Tomorrow? Yeah, of course. Can you tell me in advance what it is you want to work on?"

"I would've preferred to give you a surprise, but I guess since it's your first day, I'll tell you — I want to try and make better processors for personal use. I'll send Happy to get you tomorrow."

And with that, Tony ended the call. Biting another piece of his cheeseburger, he set the phone back on the table and, with his now free hand, swiped the holographic projection, changing it from an image of a circuit to one of a missile.

"Now that the kid'll be here tomorrow, instead of doing processors, let's skip to the fun part and make some bigger sticks for the country. Don't you think so, JARVIS?"

"As long as you want, sir."

Meanwhile, with our protagonist, seeing that the call was over, he placed the phone on his table beside the laptop.

"Looks like that'll be enough for today. I'll have to tell my parents about tomorrow, and in the meantime, I should study a bit."

Standing up, Adrian proceeded to exit his studio. He walked to the living room, where he found his parents watching TV.

"Mom, Dad, I was on a call with Mr. Stark a moment ago. He said that tomorrow will be my first day on the job and that he'll send someone to take me to work."

With that, a long talk began — one I feel doesn't need coverage.

So, just after ending the conversation, he immediately decided to save his file.

{Expecting to work and get in a more friendly relationship with Stark fills you with Determination}

{File Saved}

"Dad, I need you to take me to a computer store right now. I've got to check some things before I meet Stark tomorrow."

"Like, right now?"

"Right now. As fast as possible."

Looking at the serious expression on his son's face made Edwin sigh. Slowly standing up from the couch, he walked to the front door.

"Alright then. Let's go and get whatever you need. I hope the telenovela hasn't ended yet."

(A telenovela is basically a Spanish soap opera that works like a drama series. These are made primarily in Latin America, and the most recognized ones are Rosa de Guadalupe and Teresa.)

With that, the father-and-son duo got in the car and drove to a computer and hardware store. The reason for it was that Adrian wanted to see the difference between the processors of this current world and the ones from his own. Before dying, he had built his own PC and worked assembling computers to sell, so he had a general idea of how they worked — or at least knew what made newer versions better than the previous ones.

Talking with the store clerk, Adrian bought multiple processors from different companies, including some with very recognizable names:

Stark IndustriesAdvanced Idea MechanicsHorizon LabsIntelAMD

Seeing all of those names made Adrian start thinking. The reason was the presence of Horizon Labs and Advanced Idea Mechanics — also known as A.I.M.

'First of all, if Horizon Labs already exists, then it's more likely Peter is already a teenager. That would conflict with the normal MCU timeline, since he was supposed to be born on August 10 of this year. That would also mean the existence of multiple technologies like Reverbium and the Break Room of Tomorrow — the one that lets someone go 24 hours into the future and be considered outside the normal timestream could happen in this universe.'

Going back to the car, he glanced at another name and spoke to his father, thinking again about A.I.M.

"Dad, take me to the library we went to some time ago. I need some books."

'First — does Aldrich Killian exist? Second — is he the one who made Extremis together with Maya Hansen from the Extremis comics storyline, or is he the version from Iron Man 3? Does A.I.M. have a connection with Hydra in this universe? Does M.O.D.O.K. exist? Not the Quantum Mania one'

So many questions were popping into his mind. But for now, he'd wait until he got home to begin studying the processors and their associated technologies.

As the car stopped, Adrian walked into the library with his father. He quickly grabbed the books he wanted, did the borrowing process, and then got back in the car with his dad. This time, they were heading home.

Now he started thinking about the name Stark Industries.

'Knowing that Stark Computers exist as someone in my school owns one, it doesn't surprise me they also make things like internal components. After all, even if they're a weapons company, it's not like that's all they do — it's just their specialization.'

He took the box containing everything he bought and sprinted to his studio, where he opened it, looked at the different components, and then at the stack of borrowed books.

"First — study. Then, see how every single one of the processors works."
