But they didn't even get to move as the skeletal knights immediately pressed them back down.
They had thought that the skeletal knights would be idle since it would have required the lich's attention for them to actually do anything.
In the end, this wasn't the case.
"They can move on their own? Just what kind of lich is this?"
When their friend stopped convulsing, he dropped down to the ground with his eyes rolled back in his head and foam coming out of his mouth.
Then when they looked closely, they could see that this person wasn't even breathing anymore.
I naturally knew what the kids had tried to do while I had been using the Soul Search, so I didn't bother saying anything as I raised my hand towards the next one.
Seeing this and what happened to their comrade, they immediately started pleading for their lives.
"We'll tell you, we'll tell you exactly where the base is. We'll even lead you to it if you want."
But I didn't care about what they said anymore since the Soul Search spell had proved useful. I had already gotten the information that I wanted, I just wanted to see if any of them had any other information that I could use.
In the end, there was nothing new.
All of them had been together since they were young, so they had basically stuck together this entire time. What one knew, the others knew as well and if one of them didn't know something, the rest had no idea either.
So there was nothing useful in their minds.
After I finished using the Soul Search spell, I couldn't help letting out a deep breath.
I didn't actually have to breathe, but it was just something that I had to do since it had been hard to use this spell and I had to vent it somehow.
This spell…if it wasn't for the fact that I had shared stats that helped increase my mental fortitude…
Using the spell was like going on a psychedelic trip since it was invading a person's mind. By forcefully invading a person's mind, it scrambled everything that was in their brain which made it even hard to find what one was looking for.
As such, it required a strong willpower to push through everything and not be overwhelmed by the soul that one was searching.
So this definitely was not a spell that was easy to use.
It was no wonder it was considered a high grade spell.
I really had to thank the Shared Stats skill or else I would never be able to do half the things that I could currently do.
But after organizing their thoughts, I called the other three.
"It seems like we've hit a snag."
"What do you mean?"
"They're too strong for me to take down."
The other three were surprised and a bit confused when they heard this.
So I explained what I had learned from using the Soul Search on these kids.
They hadn't been lying about the executive that was at the base.
From their memories, I could tell that this executive was a high ranked necromancer that had been sent by the Undead Society to watch over this area. They had to be highly trusted since they were doing something like stealing the talents of the Magic Tower.
He was someone that had to be able to face the magicians of the Magic Tower if they came for a fight.
As such, he definitely wasn't someone that I could face even if I had the increased power from the shared stats.
They hadn't been exaggerating his power when they begged me not to go.
He really did control several liches and an elder lich. With those undead under him, it was better to say that he was an entire one man army.
After all, the liches and elder lich were all able to command groups of undead. With how many undead they controlled, it was as if he was an entire army alone.
With my current powers, this person definitely wasn't someone that I could face.
"Then what are you planning to do?" The main body asked after I finished explaining.
I didn't answer right away as I thought about it, but I eventually said, "Let me take a bit of vengeance by taking down a few of the necromancers in this area. If I keep taking them down, I should be able to keep learning new spells and become stronger. As for the executive, I'll run if I ever see him."
Though it sounded a bit cowardly, this really was the best plan for now.
As a newly raised lich, it wasn't as if I was that powerful.
The only reason that I was powerful was because of our broken skill, it wasn't something that could be taken for granted.
So the only thing to do right now was slowly build up power.
I couldn't be like the others that lived a bright life as the hero and the demon king. I had to live a life where I kept gathering undead in the shadows.
"Well, do what you can and don't push yourself." That was what the other three said, but I could tell that they felt pity for me.
Once I ended the call with them, I turned back to the corpses of the necromancer kids that I killed. After thinking about it, I raised my hand and said, "Arise."
But only one of them reacted.
That was because I had only used my spell on one of them.
Unlike any other undead that I raised before, this one took a while.
That was because by the end of it, there was another lich standing there in front of me.
It didn't seem as strong as me, but I could tell that there was intelligence and power in its burning eyes and that was enough.
With my shared stats, I had even become strong enough to raise other liches while being a lich.
And these liches would be able to raise undead on their own.
"Let's build up my forces so that no one can do this to me ever again." I muttered to myself as I went on to raise more liches.
