Chapter 19 - Third avatar

"Avatar capacity +1."

"Avatar capacity +1."

A disappointed look appeared on my face when I saw what came out of the reward boxes.

After all, out of all the things that could have come out, why was it this?

But then after thinking about it…

"No, this isn't a bad thing. It might not make a difference later on, but it does make a difference right now. The more avatars that I have right now when I don't have any power…" I said this to myself while stroking my chin.

This really did come at just the right time.

Once the other avatars developed and I gained enough power through the Shared Stats skill that I wouldn't have to worry about anything, it wouldn't have as much meaning to create more avatars.

It was only now when I was still weaker that it was important to create avatars to gain as much power as possible.

With more avatars, we would have access to even more skills.

"So what should I create next? The ones that were created were the hero and the demon king…Logically, the one that comes next should be that, right?" I muttered to myself as I looked at the avatar creation screen in front of me.

This time though, I made sure to take a closer look at the appearance settings.

Or rather…

"How do I make it uglier?"

Only no matter how I tried looking for the right setting, there wasn't actually a setting for making the avatar uglier. It seemed that the only thing that I could do was just accept that it would look like this.

When I was finished, I had the avatar appear in front of me and I couldn't help clicking my tongue.

"It's handsome just like the others." I muttered under my breath.

"Are you jealous?" The new avatar said with a smug smile.

"Tch." I clicked my tongue again without actually saying anything.

But instead of getting hung up on that, we focused on the other special thing about this avatar.

After the hero and the demon king, it was only natural that one would think of the great sage. Magic was something that any normal person would want to touch since it was something very special.

So why not reach the peak of magic?

That was why this avatar was created with the highest affinity for magic.

In a sense, this meant that if this avatar didn't become a magician, then it really would be a waste since it wasn't able to do anything else.

Since it was made with this affinity for magic, it would be a waste to not test it.

That was why I brought the avatar down into one of the open training areas that the knights used and had it test out a few of its spells. These were spells that the avatar had obtained through the Shared Stats skill, the ones that came from the Gran Jurad, the hero.

"Isn't this a little too overpowered?" I couldn't help asking when I saw the results of these spells.

The great sage avatar couldn't help slowly nodding in agreement even though he had been the one that had cast those spells.

There were burning and destroyed targets all over the training grounds after this test.

It was clear that the spells that the avatar used were quite powerful.

This wasn't the scene that should have been created by elementary level spells.

Now we were a bit scared to test how strong his intermediate level spells would be…

"Let's keep this hidden."

That was the one thing that we both agreed on after this test was over.

It was agreed that the avatar would only use the most basic spells and not even elementary level spells since it was clear that its power when it came to casting spells wasn't normal.

As such, it would attract too much attention if he showed off too much of himself.

Once the test was done, I arranged for the avatar to be moved over to a village that was near the Magic Tower.

This was the place where magicians in this world gathered, so it would also be the starting area for this avatar that was aspiring to become the greatest magician ever.

The Magic Tower would be holding recruitment for students soon, so this was actually the best time.

With the magic talent of the avatar, there was no doubt that he would be accepted into the Magic Tower. It was even likely that he would become a disciple of one of the current sages in the Magic Tower.

With a sage as a teacher, there would be no doubt that the avatar would have access to the highest level of magic in this world.

"Good luck."

The avatar just said with the same smug smile, "There's no need for luck. It's all about talent."

I couldn't help shaking my head when I heard this, but I didn't mind since he was me in the end. Even if he was acting smug, it was all because we were all feeling good after finding out how powerful we were because of the Shared Stats skill.

Instead of acknowledging it, I just turned and said, "Whatever, you have fun. I'm going back to the twins."

"Boo!"

That was how Solomon, the greatest sage set off on his journey.

Or it would have been if it wasn't for the fact…

"Main body, what did you do?"

I was surprised to hear this since I had been in the middle of sleeping.

Waking up, I found that it was the middle of the night when they called for me.

"What is it?" I asked the other avatars in a confused voice.

"What do you mean by that? Don't you see that the newest avatar is dead?"

"Huh?"

I was completely shocked when I heard this before quickly opening up the status window.

The moment that I opened it, I saw that it was as they said.

The new great sage avatar Solomon was actually dead!

"How did this happen!?"
