"I want to show how much I love you." Damon's hoarse voice.
"Go ahead," I said, pulling my hair to one side of my neck.
His eyes held mine, steady and unblinking, as if he was memorizing the way my breath hitched. His fingers trailed down my chest in a slow slide that made every nerve in my body awaken, and when his hand wrapped gently around my ankle, lifting my leg as if it weighed nothing, my heart reacted before my mind could.
Heat rushed through me in quiet waves. He pulled my leg over his thigh, guiding me closer with such deliberate care that the tension coiling inside me became almost too much to hold.
His lips brushed against the inside of my ankle first, a featherlight kiss that made my stomach tighten.
