Adrian didn't react to that, busy reading whatever message it was that he'd received, with his brows pinched together. When he finished, he typed a quick text, sent it and looked up, ''I have things to attend to. Tell us what we were invited here for.''
''It's about the ball,'' Roberto said.
''What about it?''
''They plan to bring up the Valenciaras.''
Adrian's movement halted. He looked up, and a flicker of something undecipherable passed through his eyes.
''Then let them," he said.
''You think we won't be affected in any way?''
''We won't,'' he assured, looking at his father like he felt insulted he was even asked that in the first place. ''You surely weren't intending to ask me that in Alejandro's presence so for the last time, Don, why exactly did you call us in?''
Roberto's hands folded across his chest.
''It's just to make sure you will have everything in control for the upcoming events. But it seems like you've got all that covered.''
