The scales at the giant wolf's throat immediately spewed out a large amount of steam, followed by heat like an open dam, the space around it became distorted, and the blazing temperature instantly blasted into the kobolds' campsite, and the decaying plants around it immediately dehydrated and died.
The kobolds were even worse, caught in the flames and twisted into a ball of agony as the rest of the kobolds crumpled and scurried around.
Feld thought back to when he was a child and doused the ants with hot water.
Pillars of fire swept back and forth across the camp, and one kobold ignited by the flames wailed in agony. More were hit directly and subsequently burned to a blackened puddle of ashes, the rest of the guys, unwilling to wait for death in despair, fought back with javelins and rocks.
"Ow ow ow!"
The kobold leader led seven or eight diehards, raising their spears and charging at Feld.
"Whoosh~"
The foremost kobold didn't even grunt as he fell to the ground without warning, intestines and tattered organs flowing out from the huge wound in his abdomen, while the feathered arrow that killed him, missing into the boulder behind him, was still quivering slightly at the end. Ashena didn't bother to command the giant wolf to attack, drawing her own arrow and opening her bow, she quickly fired towards the kobolds.
The charging kobolds didn't even have time to think about whether or not they wanted to escape before they were all killed by a stream of silver light.
Soon, all the kobolds in the camp were killed, the earth was baked dry and cracked, and the ground was filled with gray ashes.
"These kobolds have armor, they certainly didn't build it themselves, I think there are things around that are worth exploring." Feld remained focused, it was a pity that the mini-map didn't have the supplies labeled, he picked up a piece of iron that was rusted beyond recognition, "This seems to be something from the royal family, it's a pity that it's rotting like this, no one would want to collect the scrap iron."
The precise and gorgeous gardenia pattern on it, vaguely visible as a shoulder armor from the royal family, was worn as a helmet on the kobold's head.
Fielder flexed his fingers on it and sizzled off a shower of rust.
"Well, what was I expecting, these armors are rusted to slag and worthless." Throwing away the trash in disgust, Feld continued rummaging through the kobold camp.
There was no such thing as antiques in this era.
"Lord Lord, I reckon there are still their lairs nearby, it's strange that there are no cubs in the territory."
"Search carefully to see if there are any treasures is secondary, this group of kobolds needs to be wiped out." Feld looked serious, he didn't want to leave behind a group of monsters that hated him.
If you don't get rid of the grass, it will grow again in the spring.
Ashena cocked her head, he had a feeling that Feld was extra wary of the kobolds, clearly they were weak creatures. But the lord had given the order, and Ashena searched the area carefully. As they had predicted, the careful search revealed that the kobold pups were hidden in a crypt not far from the territory.
Ripping away the thorns that covered the entrance to the cave, Feld bowed in.
The entrance was small, but burrowing in revealed a spacious space filled with miscellaneous items, especially large piles of armor and weapons, but they were all rotting beyond recognition, and the smell of rust and feces filled the space with a pungent odor, but Feld had been able to ignore it, and the smell of decay wasn't much better anyway.
"Woah woah woah~"
A pile of weasel-sized kobolds shrunk into a ball all over the floor, a hundred or so to say the least, and if they hadn't been found, it might have taken a month for them to rejuvenate. The kobolds were imprisoned next to two deformed females, which, unsurprisingly, were the kobolds' own mothers.
Kobolds didn't have females, so they could only find other creatures to reproduce, and they reproduced exceptionally fast.
"Eh? Is it a species that is immune to death haze?" Feld's eyes lit up and went up to check out the doe, but was disappointed after seeing a piece of the doe's spine with a mouth and eyes, "So it's a corrupted creature, just the type that isn't aggressive."
Ashina covered her mouth and laughed, "This kind of strange kobold is very rare, death haze is not just immune."
That was true, or else the Empire would have recovered the vast northern provinces long ago.
"Something's not right, these kobolds are already able to thrive on corrupted creatures?" Feld suddenly thought of this and sucked in a breath of cold air, corrupted creatures were everywhere, if the kobolds were allowed to catch a large number of female corrupted creatures, it would pose a great threat to the Nightfall Territory.
"That's a problem, we'll have to keep an eye out for kobolds in the future."
Ashina drew her longsword from the back of her waist, the dragon breed wolves were too big to squeeze in, they would have to do it themselves.
"Let's do it together, faster." Feld picked a rusty nail head hammer from the ground, gopher-like, smashed all the small kobolds into "secondary", and then gave the two corrupted deer a hammer, and sent them all to hell.
After counting the loot in the cave, Feld harvested a cave full of broken armor, carrying them was time-consuming and useless, so he didn't want them, but there was a locked iron and wood chest that attracted attention.
"See the key?" Feld searched around.
Ashina winked mischievously, "Of course, my lord lord."
Casually, she reached out her slender hand and with a casual tug, ripped the iron lock off the chest, along with all the decaying moss attached to it.
Okay, you cow!
Feld took a deep breath and opened the chest with vigilant slowness, mentally praying that it wasn't a trigger-type bomb or a treasure chest monster inside.
Luckily the boring fantasies didn't happen, the first thing that caught his eye were two flags, an old and discolored griffin flag, and the other one Feld didn't recognize, a strange pattern of eyes and hexagons, like some noble's family flag. Like the flag of the Rose family, a rose of abstract symbols and lines, Feld didn't even want to use that flag, it looked like faggotry.
Underneath the flag, there was a single sealed lightweight round wooden cylinder standing vertically.
Carefully prying the lid off with a knife, Field could make out that inside was a rolled up piece of parchment.
Ashina's eyes glowed and her wolf ears perked up, ''I feel like I've found something interesting, is it a royal secret that's been dusty for years? Or some noble's hidden treasure!"
Felder was also curious, from the old griffin flag and royal armor, it was not hard to tell that this was equipment left behind by the royal army. The paper in it, must have recorded something interesting.
Carefully pouring out the parchment scroll, Feld saw the flame pattern on the scroll and suddenly felt very familiar.
Ashina just glanced at it and narrowed her eyes in frustration, "I feel magic flowing, I don't think that this is a treasure map."
Sure enough, when she opened it, she realized that it was filled with unintelligible symbols.
It was a magic scroll!
"No wonder I find it very familiar, my sister went to the mage academy, and the magic scroll she brought home to show off was of this style." Saying that, Fields, who had long had an itchy hand, aimed at the corpse of the decaying deer and ripped open the scroll.
