The last time Field gave them eggs, quite a few of them greedily gulped them down without even chewing twice, choking and rolling their eyes. The lack of food had filled them with a desire for protein, and many of them dreamed of the flavor of eggs.
Originally thinking that the welfare of that time would not be repeated, they really did not expect that the soulful eggs would come so quickly.
"It's easy, learn from me."
Fields showed the military postures used in the military training of American students, and then patiently corrected the mistakes one by one.
The best of these guards, Field had no small expectations of them, the framework of the future army, no surprise, would need to be built with them.
After doing this, Field then asked the manservant to bring chairs, and took out the hourglass to time it.
"Hold on for half an hour, and the eggs are yours." Feld flashed a devilish grin.
The Hammer squirmed and pouted his buttocks, trying his best to make himself stand board straight, with his hands furtively pressed to the outside of his crotch, and his feet having to be forked at an angle.
"It's probably a burlesque show the nobles like." Iron Hammer had heard that nobles loved to watch clown shows, he had never seen a clown, but guessed that it should be his own appearance, Iron Hammer muttered in his heart, "But for the sake of the eggs, it's all worth it, is there any more tiring work than moving bricks or digging minerals?"
Soon, Iron Hammer saw the horror of standing in military posture.
The farmland of the Nightfall Collar, after being purified by the purification potion and Field's lord ability, hadn't fully recovered yet, soft and rotten like it had just rained, and Iron Hammer only felt unable to stand on his feet.
In the eyes of the onlookers, it wasn't the land that was the problem, but the standing crowd was trembling, their legs shaking into soft noodles. Feeling the heaviness all over their bodies, the guards realized that standing was not an easy task, and the feeling of tingling and soreness was as painful as carrying heavy loads for a day.
Hammer, cold and sweaty, gritted his teeth and gave himself a silent pep talk.
"For the eggs."
Several guards were silently chanting, still gritting their teeth even though their bodies were swaying.
The corners of Felder's mouth involuntarily rose, glancing at the hourglass, "Sure enough, the motivation brought about by substances is very powerful."
Only after leisurely drinking a cup of black tea did Feld announce a break, and only then did the crowd collapse in a mess like a relief.
"Genius move, my lord, treat them as they should be treated." After the inventory of the wine cellar, the steward Cao, holding a paper with ink still wet, came to report, saw that Field was "torturing" the guards, and thought that Field had realized the key to nobility: not treating people as human beings.
Cao was instantly relieved.
"Huh, you also understand the power of discipline?" Fielder was shocked, even his sitting posture became serious, the meaning behind standing in military posture was not something medieval people could just understand, I didn't expect my butler, to have such an avant-garde gaze.
Cael rubbed his nose in confusion "Discipline? I mean, when dealing with slaves, you should torture them in a different way so they'll be obedient."
"Ow, that's alright then." Disappointed, Feld reclined lazily on the backrest of his chair with a wilting grin, "It's not torture, it's training, and they're doing so well I've decided to give them extra eggs for lunch."
"Eggs? Again for the slaves?" Ka'ao was struck by lightning, his entire body froze in place, his mouth opened and closed, he almost passed out of breath, "Lord Lord, this is the second time you've made such a ridiculous move, slaves should eat whips, not eggs!"
Stuffing shiny gold coins into an old and ugly witch's "treasure hole", Caor could barely praise the creativity, but giving slaves eggs made Caor cry out in pain.
Ka Ao could swear that Feld's move was absolutely strange and explosive in the entire empire.
Even the most recalcitrant dude in the capital of the empire wouldn't make such a creative and defeatist move.
Seeing the butler so angry that he kept pulling his collar for air, Fields felt a burst of amusement in his heart and comforted, "This is a cursed place, of course you can't follow the rules like an unusual area, all the rules here, will be brand new, I believe you will get used to it. By the way, how is the wine tally doing."
"I am coming to that." Speaking of business, the steward took out the results and handed them to Field, reporting excitedly, "According to the standard sherry casks, 3 barrels of barley wine, 7 barrels of mead, 7 barrels of olive wine, 24 barrels of black pearl wine, and in addition we found the precious aerated wine, or champagne, only 1 barrel."
The first three are plebeian drinks, and it is the wines that are worth the money."Much better than I expected, great." Fielder stood up and paced back and forth, his excited heart made him unable to sit down at all, and he laughed out freely, "The main thing now is to realize all of them, only when they turn into shiny gold coins will I feel relieved."
In case a monster slipped in to wreak havoc, the gold coins would go down the drain.
"Kao, you take some of the slaves and have them load the rations for forty people for ten days, yes, there is also fodder for the horses, you will be in charge of checking on that. I'm going to personally make a trip to Maple Leaf City to visit the local nobles and find outlets for the wine."
"This... Is this too risky, the Death Haze is no joke. It's hard for us to have the luck we had last time, if we run into a large wave of corpses, accidents are likely to happen. My lord, just let the Chosen of God lead the team, right?" Caor questioned, looking around quietly to make sure Ashena wasn't there before he sighed in relief, he didn't like that scary subhuman at all, "Besides, we've only been in the Nightfall Collar for a few days now, everyone needs your leadership."
Feld sighed helplessly, it was only dangerous if he didn't go himself.
If Ashena fell, Feld wouldn't be able to defend the large winery at all.
Without a small map, Ashena would 100% run into a large wave of corpses, and not just one batch or two. Feld himself knew well how dangerous the Northern Province was, they were like playing in a sea of rotting corpses, the slightest mistake would be the end.
"This is an order, just follow it carefully."
Fielder waved his hand and skimmed his face, not bothering to explain. Caor was the only one in the territory, who could read and write, but it didn't mean he was an internal affairs talent. By letting the Chosen to trade, wouldn't it tell the entire empire that Feld, an unpopular, unreliable, isolated little baron, possessed valuable Chosen?
No matter what, Feld couldn't lose Ashena, nor could he expose Ashena to outsiders.
"Huh, what are they doing?"
Feld noticed two female slaves whispering about something, walking towards the outskirts of the territory.
"Maybe it's a woman's little secret, or gossip, or... There is a conspiracy."
A conspiracy was unlikely, there were no fog repelling lights, and unless one was directly awakened as a Chosen One, one could not run out.
It was probably to feel the fish, and Feld was very experienced at feeling the fish.
