Chapter: Blackmail, Lollipops, and Background Checks
The morning chaos wasn't over yet.
William, still salty from his sleepless night, suddenly smirked and pulled out his phone.
"Wanna see something hilarious?"
He played the video—the one he sneakily recorded of Jun drunk, mumbling nonsense, vomiting, and whispering weird things in his sleep. The room filled with laughter.
"What more should we expect from you, huh?" Tim teased, elbowing Jun.
Jun's eyes widened.
"Delete it. Now."
"Nah. It's gold—"
"Delete. It." Jun's voice grew serious.
Before William could reply, East grabbed the phone, scrolled with a deadly calm expression, then hit delete.
"Done."
Tim laughed.
"My poor buddy, you got wrecked."
William huffed, stood up, and stomped into the kitchen like a sulky teenager. He pulled a lollipop from the candy jar, stuck it into his mouth, and sat down again with crossed arms and a dramatic glare.
East looked over at him.
"Take that out and eat your lunch like a normal person."
William ignored him, chewing his lollipop like a five-year-old.
Tim reached over and casually stole William's lunch plate.
"If you're not gonna eat it, I will—"
"Stop! I will eat it, bastard!" William snapped, trying to grab the plate back.
Meanwhile, Jun was staring off at nothing, deep in thought.
Tim noticed.
"Why are you zoning out? Thinking about that mystery guy again?"
Jun snapped back.
"Huh?"
Tim grinned.
"You looked like you were remembering something spicy."
Before Jun could reply, Tim poked his side.
Jun turned and smacked him lightly.
"Stop it, idiot."
Then, East looked at Jun seriously.
"Who were you with last night?"
Jun hesitated.
"I… don't know."
He looked down.
"But can you do something for me?"
East narrowed his eyes.
"What?"
Jun leaned closer.
"Can you find out about Yan? I need his full background."
East didn't even think.
"No."
Jun sighed.
"Please?"
"Never."
Jun's lips curled into a smirk.
"Fine. Then I'll go tell your mom everything about that fight two months ago—and I'll tell her why it started."
East froze.
"…You wouldn't."
Jun raised an eyebrow.
"Wanna bet?"
East sighed in defeat.
"Fine."
He picked up his phone and made a call.
"Get me full background info on someone named Yan. No mistakes. I want it all."
The voice on the other end replied instantly.
"Understood, boss."
Jun's face lit up.
He ran over and hugged East tightly.
"Thank you, bro! You're the best!"
Then, impulsively, he kissed East's cheek.
William, watching from the corner, snapped.
"Hey! He's mine."
Jun chuckled and raised his hands.
"Okay, okay! I surrender."
Tim yawned.
"I'm going to sleep. This idiot didn't let me sleep the whole night."
William stood up too.
"Same. I need to sleep off the trauma."
East grabbed his jacket.
"I'm heading to the company. Text if anything happens."
Jun nodded.
"Yeah… I've got family dinner anyway."
The group slowly scattered, laughter fading, e
motions settling, but the name "Yan" now hung in the air like a secret waiting to explode.
