[Elara's POV]
The rain grew quieter, but I still found it hard to sleep. It wasn't due to the cold air that filled the room; no, the thoughts of two years ago were hitting me.
"I haven't seen them in a while..." When I had found my way into this town and was taken in by the elders, I could still remember the temple I was brought to for the ritual to be carried out, the one to seal my wolf.
"Maya," one of the young girls had called her name. Some of the wolves I had met there as well, thinking things were well, but now I hadn't seen them in these two years. What had happened?
Kieran had already left for his room, while I decided to stay for the night. But now that I was after the answers, these thoughts only seemed to haunt me more.
Wanting to find out if they were okay, the wolves I had met—none had mentioned any goodbyes. What I mostly heard was that they had traveled off to another town. Yet I found it hard to believe that. Even though I had no idea why.
