Volume 1 Chapter 19: The Weekend
The changes to his body were becoming more and more obvious.
After waking up that morning, Ning Chu stared at the ceiling, gloom heavy in his chest like storm clouds gathering overhead.
When he first transmigrated into this world, he thought he'd be the chosen one—some lucky protagonist blessed with a golden-finger cheat system to turn his mundane life into something vibrant and dazzling.
Instead, he had no cheat powers, had transmigrated into the very novel he wrote, and worst of all, was apparently fated to become a woman—to be reduced to someone's plaything.
Sure, he'd resisted the process. Fought back. But the more he resisted, the faster the feminization progressed.
Still, it was better than being forcibly pushed into the plot—better than being dominated and "toppled" like in the original story.
Even if he did end up becoming a girl, maybe he could find a nice yuri wife in this chaotic world. That wouldn't be so bad...
Wait—didn't he write a scene where the yuri couple still got screwed over and end up becoming the protagonist pets!?
"Life is so unfair..." he sighed again.
Right on cue, a sleepy voice piped up from beside him. "Sighing again?"
He rolled onto his stomach and looked up to meet Wen Yang's eyes—his bedmate, sleeping head-to-head with him.
"Bad dream," Ning Chu muttered.
Then he noticed the dark circles under Wen Yang's eyes, the faint flush on his cheeks, and how tired he looked.
"You didn't sleep well?"
"Mm…"
Wen Yang twitched his nose and quietly inched away, sliding further down the bed until his feet dangled off the edge.
After the bar incident last night, Wen Yang's mind had been a chaotic mess. He'd resisted temptation and come home, only to find that—somehow—Ning Chu's scent was even more intoxicating than the girls at the bar. All night, his body had been tense, alert, practically on edge.
Every breath carried a soft, feminine scent. Something clean, floral, like shampoo mixed with warm skin. Compared to the girls he'd met at the bar, Ning Chu's presence was much subtler—and far more alluring.
"You should try and get some more sleep," Ning Chu said through a yawn, burying his face in his pillow.
But after just a moment, he turned onto his side uncomfortably. Probably because of his "growth spurt"—lying on his chest made it sore, the pressure too much to sleep that way anymore.
"Ning Chu," Wen Yang suddenly sat up and suggested, "maybe we should sleep facing opposite directions from now on?"
"Huh? Why?" Ning Chu frowned. "Did I snore last night or something?"
"No, it's not that…"
Ning Chu just grunted in response and yawned again. Like a lazy sloth, he slowly began crawling toward the foot of the bed on all fours, stretching and wobbling his hips as he moved.
Wen Yang couldn't help but glance over—and then couldn't tear his eyes away.
Ning Chu's pajama pants were tight across his butt, the curves perfectly outlined as he moved. Not big, but high and firm, swaying a little with each motion.
As soon as Ning Chu lay down again in his new position, Wen Yang snapped his eyes away like he'd been burned.
'What the hell is wrong with me?' he thought. 'Am I really getting turned on by a guy? Or is it just… because I've never been with a woman before?'
Unaware of Wen Yang's internal spiral, Ning Chu tucked his legs under the blanket and curled up into a ball, closing his eyes to quietly think.
Two events had already triggered the story's flags: once with Ling Ling, once with the twin sisters at the bar. He'd barely managed to keep Wen Yang's virginity intact both times, but now it was clear—passive defense wasn't going to cut it.
Wen Yang had thoughts of his own. He wasn't a puppet.
So how could he stop this harem-protagonist from getting seduced every five minutes?
"…Wen Yang," he finally said, hesitating, "how about… you don't date anyone?"
"Huh?"
"You're the only one in our dorm the girls are into. Us single dogs need to stick together!" Ning Chu joked, trying to sound light-hearted.
But Wen Yang caught the subtle seriousness in his tone—Ning Chu really didn't want him dating. It wasn't just a joke.
"…Come on. Who goes through college without dating?" Wen Yang replied, trying to keep it casual.
"College is for studying~"
Ning Chu corrected him softly, eyes already busy calculating other options.
Since Wen Yang clearly had no intention of not dating, maybe… maybe he should find him a possessive, domineering, extremely jealous girlfriend?
But then again, those slutty plot-thirsty girls wouldn't just back off because he had a girlfriend. On the contrary, they might even be thrilled that someone was out there "training" Wen Yang's technique for them.
This was getting way too complicated…
"Why are you up so early?" Wang Jie stirred from sleep thanks to their voices. He rolled over to face them, looking groggy and confused. "Ning Chu, why are you so against Wen Yang dating, anyway?"
"Huh? I'm not!" Ning Chu immediately shot back.
"You're not jealous, are you? Like, do you… like Wen Yang?"
That sentence pierced straight through Ning Chu's mental armor. His eyes widened in disbelief as his voice cracked, completely losing control.
"I do not!!"
Like Wen Yang?! I'd rather see him dead!
His outburst echoed through the dorm, so loud and sharp it made Wang Jie jump and immediately burrow back under his blanket like a frightened turtle.
"I was just—just kidding, man…" Wang Jie muttered, voice small and apologetic.
"Who jokes about something like that?!" Ning Chu barked, still fuming, now completely unable to go back to sleep.
Wang Jie had already surrendered, but Ning Chu's anger still burned in his chest. His breathing grew heavy and uneven, every inhale tight with irritation.
Joking that I like Wen Yang? That's crossing the line!
He'd rather be called effeminate—at least that didn't hit the same raw nerve.
Then he turned his head and saw Wen Yang blinking at him, looking totally bewildered. Ning Chu took a deep breath and forced a strained smile.
"Didn't know you could get that mad," Wen Yang said, rubbing his ears. "God, your voice just now… I thought my eardrums were gonna burst."
Ning Chu's smile stiffened even more. He didn't want to lose Wen Yang's trust—if Wen Yang started to dislike him, it'd be even harder to steer him away from the hentai plot.
"I, uh… I'm gonna go brush my teeth."
He scurried down from the top bunk, grabbed his toothbrush and face towel, and fled out to the balcony.
His hair, a messy bird's nest from sleep, flopped around as he slapped cold water onto his face. With a few halfhearted finger combs, he tried to gather his thoughts.
This weekend, he had to find a way to keep Wen Yang with him the whole time.
Maybe get him hooked on some fun game? Or drag him outside for an adventure?
But just as he started plotting, another thought crept in—Zhang Shaoqing had gone home this weekend.
Would something happen to him there? What if he came back fully blackened and turned into the final boss villain? That would be a disaster for everyone.
"Too much crap to deal with…" Ning Chu muttered, glancing back into the room. Then he raised his voice and shouted, "Wen Yang! Wang Jie! Wanna go out later?"
Wang Jie, probably still trying to redeem himself after his earlier blunder, responded eagerly, "Yes!"
"Where to? I've already got plans this morning…" Wen Yang hesitated, expression caught between guilt and indecision.
"Come on, even Wang Jie's going! What's so fun about hanging out with girls anyway?"
Wang Jie nodded furiously. "Exactly! Exactly!"
Wen Yang started wavering.
"Uh… well… depends where we're going."
"I checked online before—there's an amusement park just thirty minutes away by taxi!"
"…Okay. But who's paying?"
Ning Chu froze.
Then, as if on instinct, he turned toward Zhang Shaoqing's empty bed.
Suddenly… he really missed that stingy, future-villain bastard.
