Once Annabelle steadied herself, she rushed to Selina's side, her worried gaze scanning her from head to toe for any sign of injury.
"Are you hurt anywhere? Did he touch you? Where?!" The words tumbled from her lips in a rush of concern.
"I'm… I'm fine. It's just… he almost kissed me." Selina whispered, her moist eyes locking onto Annabelle. Her hands gripped the fabric of her dress, trembling slightly, the shock still evident on her face.
"He almost did what?! Gross!" The moustache guard growled, slamming his fist into his palm, his veins coursing with boiling rage at his failed attempt to protect Selina.
Annabelle's eyes widened, words failing her for a moment.
"He's lucky I didn't appear when he tried. If not… I'd rip his teeth out. Big…" The guard faltered mid-sentence, lips pressed together, remembering the sensitive identity he had been strictly warned not to reveal under any circumstances.
Annabelle clenched her fists, jaw tight, letting out a sharp, angry complaint.
