Chapter 116 - First Intermission - Traveler's Lament

Oh! There was no place like home…

For all of the wonders Dunia possessed in its corner of the universe, among the countless stars bore by the Eternal Serpent,

Nothing could compare to the place I called home…

When the sun rose on the eastern horizon, its ray first shone on the towering mountains and the rolling plains of Tchakra, for that was how the 'Land of the Golden Dawn' was named.

Progenitor of wisdom, the dwellers of the Golden Dawn provinces claimed their ancestors once served the ancient gods in the long Lost Paradise, which name was forgotten in the passage of time.

In return for their dedication, the ancient gods bestowed knowledge to these ancestors, both good and evil.

Through the divine and primal wisdom bestowed through generations that the people of Tchakra flourished.

Knowledge to master the nature. Knowledge to master the body. Knowledge to master the mind.

Few great cities in other nations could even compare to the beauty of Tchakra's most modest town.

Not even the grand empire of Tsatu possessed as many warriors as all the sects in Tchakra combined.

Only the library of the Tower of Circle could equal the collective wisdom of the scholars of Tchakra.

A prosperous land with prosperous people.

But still it could not compare to the place I called home…

The sun rose higher to its zenith and radiated the entire expanse of the Great Desert.

In this land that the sun was called by another name. Surya.

The Great Desert was no land for the living.

It killed as mercilessly as a monster. Thus the region was called 'Tsahanam.'

But despite the torture of the Great Desert, the people of Tsahanam survived.

Since the land wished for their flesh and blood, the people believed it was the sun instead who granted their lives, providing both shade and warmth to endure the harshness of the desert.

Under the blessing of the Sun that the Tsahanam folk thrived.

They dug deeper into the sand and carved themselves a mighty civilization.

With the glimmering city of Fajar at the heart of the Great Desert, the people of Tsahanam conquered the blasted land and raised a sultanate.

Ivory palaces and towering walls stood atop the ocean of sand.

The grand constructs glittered like diamonds under the radiance of the Sun.

Still, none of them could compare to the place I called home…

The sun dipped to the horizon and sank on the west, painting the sky crimson above the massive empire of Tsatu.

The land of pioneers, the true land of men, the only realm where humankind was supposed to exist. For that was why it was called 'Tsatu.'

Since the beginning of time the monarch of Tsatu ruled and till the end of time shall they rule.

And under the decree of the Eternal Serpent that time shall be endless.

Beginning. End. Rebirth.

For that was why it was called the Eternal Throne.

Only the descendant of the great pioneer, Manusha, shall sit on the throne of Tsatu and wear its crown, the highest authority in all of Dunia.

Only the descendant of the great pioneer, Manusha, shall hold the power that binds the Seven Watchers of the Realm.

Only the descendant of the great pioneer, Manusha, shall make the world kneel.

Over more than three thousand years of the reign of the Eternal Throne, the great pioneer's descendants solidified Tsatu as the mightiest nation in Dunia.

No invader had ever challenged Tsatu and won.

Not the Kutub hunters in the First War during the beginning of the Eternal Throne's reign,

Nor the devils of Chandra during the Invasion of Asura,

Nor the keepers of Agni during the Flame's Campaign,

Nor the messengers of Garuda during the Iron Tempest,

Nor the kin of Indra during the Northern Storm.

The heirs of Varuna were the only ones who had not contested against Tsatu.

But the Tsamudra Empire never cared for the land-dwellers. Nor was there ever a need for the Eternal Throne to expand its authority beyond the gulfs of the southern sea.

With its undisputable power Tsatu thrived as an empire.

Even so, it still could not compare to the place I called home…

For home was where love is.

For home was where I found peace.

For home was where my heart found refuge.

In all my life, in all my experience travelling through Dunia, in all my time of seeing the world, nothing could compare to the place I called home.
