"What is this?"
I asked the fairy.
[Duh, it's a status window. It tells you what you are. After master activated the blessing, you can now see it.]
"'Class, strength, intelligence, stamina, agility, and skills.' All of these factors defines who I am in this land?"
[All the important parts. Or at least what master cares about.]
"Apart from the skills, I could see that my class is a mage and I surely understand why. But the other statuses are represented in numbers."
[That's just how it is. The higher the number the better, of course. They will improve as you level up.]
I raised my eyebrows upon the last term.
"Level? Is that what the 'lv.' part represents?"
[Yeah. You level up once your experience points right beside it is fulfilled. Mind though the skills also have a level of their own.]
Interesting.
This explanation alone could answer some of the mysteries we had about the forged land.
The reason why Jonah and the others became stronger after they went through the trial must be because they had levelled up.
And I believed the same goes for synthesis.
While the reason why Jonah, Shanny, and the others became significantly more adept in using their weapons must be because they levelled up in skills.
I then turned my gaze toward the row of star icon beside my name.
"And the stars must be our ranking?"
[The stars tells you the overall quality you possess. The more stars you have, the better.]
"What exactly is the difference?"
[The more star you have, the more skills you could or already have possessed. And typically the better stats you have.]
"Is the star ranking fixed? Or can a 1-star grow to become a 4-star like me?"
[They can get more stars through promotion. They can receive promotion once they levelled up enough.]
"I see. Then how much of a star one can attain?"
[You can get up to 7 stars. But most likely you'll only end up as a 6-star given the condition for the 7-star promotion is very difficult to fulfill.]
So there was a growth system in place for us to become stronger.
Given the monsters kept getting stronger as we climbed the tower, I supposed it was fair for us to improve as well.
Stars and level would be an important parameter to assess our strength.
I was certain there was more to this status window fundamentals, but for now it was what I could gather.
"You're certainly generous to be giving me this much information."
I said to the fairy.
[I'm only doing this so that you could do it in my place when the others asked. Now be a good witch and spread the words.]
She said before vanishing.
Indeed, the others must had been confused by now. I needed to relay them this important information.
I decided to halt my research for the moment and made my way to the training ground.
"Serafina!"
Jonah called out. He was with the others from party 1 as well as with the newcomers.
"Did you see those blue flames just now? What were those?"
Shanny asked.
"Right? One of them flew right into me!"
Cecily shouted.
"They appeared not long after you went into that new building, so we thought you might know something."
Trudy explained.
As expected, they barraged me with questions.
I proceeded to tell them about research, the blessing, and the status window.
They soon understood everything they needed to know and hurried to check their status window about themselves.
Unfortunately, not everyone could see their screens. Perhaps we needed to do more research to resolve that issue.
But, at the very least, everyone in Party 1 could check theirs.
I could not see their screens, but here was what Jonah and Shanny shared to me about theirs.

Their levels were higher than mine.
They both also had weapon skills level 3 or above.
Meanwhile, Jonah had a 'composure' skill which according to him was a skill that promotes fear resistance.
I supposed that was why he was never rattled whenever we were fighting against the monsters.
As for Shanny, her 'savage' skill allowed her to convert her rage into strength.
I had observed her as someone with a strong personality. It carried within the way she fought.
Given their levels, statuses, and skills, it was no wonder why they were our best close-ranged fighters in this forged land, or should I say 'lobby.'
I turned my gaze toward Cecily and Trudy. According to them, these what their status windows looked like.

Just as I thought, Cecily was a 2-star.
She had a weapon skill level on par with Jonah and Shanny.
Though she was only level 2 in general, her statuses topped even Trudy who was a level 3.
I supposed that was what made a 1-star and a 2-star different.
As for Trudy, specifically, even though she and Shanny both used sword and shield, Trudy's weapon skill was still differentiated into shield and sword technique. While Shanny was combined into one skill.
There was also the level of Trudy's swordsmanship that was still in level 1, two levels below Shanny's.
I could see why in the trials she could not overwhelm her opponent like Jonah and Shanny did.
These status windows definitely gave us great insights on our capabilities.
And this was thanks to the lobby's blessing we received through the research I did under master's order.
It was soon for us to discover what else the lobby's blessing provided for us.
